Macc cleaned house after the draft. Whole new scouting staff is in place this year for 2016 draft.

They tried. Idzik sucked and Tanny sucked a little less, causing the current regime to fill those holes through FA this year.

Hopefully Mac can really find young talent. Otherwise it's just SOJ I'm afraid.

D'brickashaw Ferguson, Nick Mangold, Brian Winters, Tommy Bohannon, Jace Amaro (IR), Muhammed Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, Leonard Williams, David Harris, Demario Davis, Quentin Coples/Lorenzo Mauldin, Darrelle Revis, and Calvin Pryor.

All drafted by the Jets. Not sure I understand your argument.

There's no right way or wrong way to build a team. We just need to get lucky and get a QB that can carry us for a decade

I understand the need to build the foundation via the draft. My point is that the Jets haven't exactly ignored the draft. Yes, they've used FA to supplement the draft, as a lot of teams do. You cannot build a team doing just one or the other, IMO. Sometimes holes need to be filled by signing an Eric Decker or Ryan Fitzpatrick when the answer cannot being found immediately on your roster.

You hit it right on the head, Elias. The Jets inability (or just bad luck) in finding a franchise QB is the reason we don't have a SB ring right now. They've had some very well rounded teams during the last 15 years. If you put a franchise QB on some of those teams, we'd probably have a ring.
