Jameis Winston Don't Fear Nobody, Not Even Richard Sherman

"We don't fear nobody. Richard Sherman get out there and line up against us, we wouldn't throw away from him neither."

(Seated a few feet away, FSU OC Randy Sanders chimed in: "Personally, I'm glad we're not playing Richard Sherman.")

The offensive coordinator was funny but Jameis. Come on man! Anyways, if you read the whole article, you'll see how the whole quote can be taken out of context and blown out of proportion depicting the kid as a showboat.

In this instance, it just shows his confidence. Pretty good read and interview actually. I recommend you guys read it. He's intelligent.

Haven't read the article yet. i will. I like Winston a lot. I'm actually hoping that Oregon kills FSU. Maybe Winston will fall to 6.

LOL. I'll more then likely be doing a game thread on New Years Day.

I can see him dropping to 6, or getting selected 1st.
If the NYPD ever starts to makes arrests, I can also imagine him in cuffs.
What I cant imagine is him graduating with a degree in English.

I can imagine it, but I would not bet on it. A college QB with 2 years experience and an interception percentage near *4%? Is that rate going to come down? Things are going to get easier in the NFL? Rodgers and Brady are the gold standard on interceptions (1.7%-2.2%). This guy is going to step in the NFL and sling it like he did in college only with fewer interceptions? If he throws 30 times a game, we're looking at on average 1-2 interceptions per game. Roughly 24 per year. It's hard to win the turnover battle like that. And we all know how important the turnover battle is to winning.

I just don't see it turning out well. If the Jets draft him do I hope I'm wrong? Sure, obviously. If the Jets draft him, I hope he comes in and is a phenom and revolutionizes football.

I like Hundley better than Winston, and Mariota over both. I'd prefer Green-Beckham. This way the Giants have their Beckham and we have a Green-Beckham.

i think Winston will be available at 6, or will go at 5 after someone trades up ahead of us. the redskins are souring badly after that miserable trade for RG3 and may give away the #5 pick for whatever they can get to recoup years of lost picks. STL and Houston could move up to 5 for him. Arizona if they feel Palmer is on his last knee...

otherwise, the only QB-needy teams pick ahead of us.

As I've said several times in the draft forum, I'm not an FSU fan at all. Canes fan. Normally hate FSU, and I'm rooting against them tomorrow, for Canes, and Jets related reasons. Almost every time I have seen this kid play, and I've watched him 16 times, I came away impressed.

The off field stuff, not as concerned about it as most people. Think the media has really over blow the thing.

Under heavy federal and media observation, (feds had mediators and observers at the hearing. Really don't understand why) Winston was pretty much absolved of guilt in the sexual assault non case. If any one looked into it more then what the media was throwing out, the accuser came off as a bit flaky. Didn't show up for scheduled police interviews, changed stories, and stories in conflict with eye witness' in the time before they went to bed together.

Not sure why this case got so much attention. Sanchez was accused of the same thing as a freshman, actually arrested, and suspended. It was never an issue during his junior year, and seldom mentioned when he was drafted. Weird.

The shop lifting $16 worth of crab legs he was guilty of. According to local media (and I know local media in a college town is usually biased to star football players) the Publix he was arrested at, had a policy of letting the football team help themselves to things. Again not unusual in college towns. A security guy didn't get the word. What ever, who knows? Still not a major deal.

The yelling out FHITP in the cafeteria was certainly immature, but he is only 20 YO. Just not a big deal, and nothing a lot of college jocks haven't done. Not really concerned as much as the media is about his becoming Aaron Hernandez in two weeks. Still he's been in more conflict then you want to see a 6th pick in the draft be in.

Got to disagree with him being stupid. Most of the interviews I have seen him in he comes off as very bright, and self confident. He also made the ACC academic/ athletic all star team. Not to shabby for a dope.

On field

Negative- Sometimes sloppy footwork, sometimes throws off his back foot, which has led to pics. As strong as his arm is tries to put the ball in places it doesn't fit to often.

Positive

Guy has won, what is it now, 29 straight games? Has a tremendous arm , seems to see the whole field. Deadly against the blitz. Stands in the pocket, and shakes off would be sacks like Big Ben, then delivers strikes upfield.

Reads D's very well, and will go down to the safty valve very quickly when needed. Not very fast, but is so powerful often runs over people for 1st downs. He actually does look a lot like Big Ben when playing.

Gets over mistakes very quickly, and reacts to pressure very well. Has played under tremendous personnel pressure this season, and handled it great. Well respected by team mates, and is a team leader. Looks like an NFL QB in the pocket.

The interceptions this season are a concern. He has played with a high ankle sprain since the second game. IMO it has affected his follow thru, and over all power causing most of the interceptions.

Last but not least, he has played in a pro style set, and played very well. This is a major issue with today's college QB's big adjustment to the NFL.

The Noles are a 9 pt under dog tomorrow, and they should be. FSU just isn't a dominating team this year. They are still undefeated IMO because of Jameis Winston. They should get killed tomorrow against running Mariota, and the Ducks. As we saw against Georgia Tech, the Noles are horrible against the run.

Tomorrows a major game. If FSU should somehow find a way to win, Winston could easily be selected #1 . if they lose and Winston has a rare off game (see the Gator's game) he could slide to #6 .

I'd run up to the podium with the selection. Just my opinion

can you imagine winston being a successful NFL QB??

I really can't. At least not in NY. I just imagine him getting busted constantly. I don't think he takes it seriously, a black Johnny football. He will fall in the draft because of his off the field issues

Not even close to accurate

Meatball is 5 9 and can't begin to learn a pro offense, has no clue about being an NFL QB

Winston has all the measurables,.a better arm and played in a pro style pocket offense at FSU.

Winston will be a fine NFL QB. Meatball.will be out of football and a drunk hanger on.at Justin Beiber parties

Not close to accurate? Guys fall in the draft all the time for less. If you don't think shop lifting, school conduct issues, being benched for games because of issues, and oh yeah, rape allegations won't scare teams off you're nuts. He threw 17 picks this year in 14 games. He himself said he was forcing balls. He was forcing balls against bad teams on a soft schedule.

And I was comparing him to Johnny not on talent but on taking his craft seriously and getting in trouble. His issues kept him out of a game this year that almost cost his team. That's what you want? To,constantly worry about your qb on a weekly basis because he can't stay out of trouble? Not me sorry

Got to agree with sg here, There is 0 comparisons between the 2 players. On or off the field. Manziel is almost an un-coachable party hound. Winston is immature at this point (he's only 20) but is a good student, and a good locker room and on field leader. Has learned a complicated pro style O very well. Winston has played injured all season. Watching games has had a very noticeable limp from a high ankle sprain. Injury has affected his game, mostly in mobility, and mechanics, causing a major rise in pics.

If he slides, it will because he played poorly today. Oregon is a much better team up front on both sides of the ball. Game right now looks like a blow out. If they win,and I'll be surprised, it will be because Winston pulled their coals out of the fire. As it has been all year.

Winston has a good chance to be an excellent pro, but I am hoping the Noles lose today.

I'm all for having a nice time in college and enjoying yourself. I'm sure a lot of us have. Including myself. You can chalk up shop lifting and rape allegations to immaturity? Again, I don't think so. He comes off like a guy who thinks he can get away with anything.
