The Jets have plenty of questions to answer at quarterback this offseason, so they figure to look at all their options.

This week, that means working out a guy who qualifies for journeyman status without having played a game.

Via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets worked out former fifth-round pick Aaron Murray, who is making the rounds trying to hustle up another job.

He worked out for the Panthers recently, after spending time with three teams last year. After being cut by the Chiefs, he had a week on the Cardinals practice squad before spending the rest of the year on Philadelphia’s.

He hasn’t played in a regular season game yet.

With Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith set to be free agents, the Jets have just Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg on the depth chart at the moment.

He was an interesting prospect coming out of college... Got lost in a numbers game with KC.. reports were they liked him but he didn't stick anywhere else... oh well, I guess it's no stone left unturned.

Waste of time and resources for the Jets unless the plan is to cut Petty or Hackenberg. Still, in your biz, do you hire a guy who was fired this often this quickly?

Someone with field experience is necessary for 2017

I don't want a stop gap short term "field experience" guy. No one out there with "field experience" is a franchise guy.... We need to find that guy.. I don't think Muurray is him but no one out there is.... Lets ride with Petty and Hack and see what we got.

Didn't know diddley about him, but looked him up.
One reference said he is the SEC career passing leader.
That is NOT chopped liver, especially when you consider how many first and second round defensive players are drafted every year from the SEC.
Definitely worth a looksee.

Which was not too shabby - a game manager who protects the ball, with a good "football mind" who can look a defender off and spread the ball around, but not the strongest arm in the league. I'll take that, both interim and long term. (Boys and girls, can you say "Bart Starr"?)
I'd rather have that than a guy like Concannon, who could throw a football through a brick wall, but couldn't ht the wall.
