Jets have released Abanikanda to create a roster spot for Nwangwu. The Pro Bowl form of Breece Hall makes Izzy expendable.

More seriously they were probably concerned that Nwangwu would be poached from the PS after that kick return. I would expect Izzy to be re-signed to the PS if he passes waivers, but if he doesn't it is probably less of a loss after the recent return of Bam Knight to the PS.

If they don't build an offense that sustains drives and keeps the defense from getting tired, there are going to be a lot of opportunities for returning kickoffs.

Apparently they did this after placing McCaffrey and Mason on IR, so he has been picked up to play. This should be interesting.

Not sure how much playing time he will get but they will have him for 2 more years for pennies being on his rookie deal.

He is on their main roster, he looks odd being the only player in a green shirt. Niners haven't updated their depth chart yet.
