I'm not so sure. He made 33 starts for Pittsburgh in three years and was then the starting left tackle for the Patriots last year. The only reason he played so little last year was some sort of spat with Mayo. Having played little he shouldn't have any sort of injury. IF he has kept in shape and can lose any rust I could see him starting for one or two years, time to develop a draft pick behind him. As for making the roster, he has to beat out Warren. And the guy is only 27, young for an OL.
The not playing bothers me. Guys do that and it seems the next year they are plagued with nagging injuries all season long. Happens to holdouts too. That's my reasoning for not expecting much from him. Depth is my main concern. Having a swing tackle or a guy who can play multiple positions on the OL is always a good practice.
More so with the holdouts. Look how many players miss a season due to injury and return to play well. Will have to give 100 in off season with conditioning but hopefully will be ok.

I agree. Once they interrupt their year round conditioning routine it screws them all up. Some never reach that level again. Let's hope this is just the first of many OL additions. Hopefully this regime will not ignore the OL in the draft like so many before them.
