The Jets’ need for a quarterback has plenty of people paying attention to which draft prospects at that position they are spending time with this month.

That’s not their only position of need heading into this year’s draft, however. They were likely to be in the market for cornerback help even before the departure of Darrelle Revis and the addition of former Cowboy Morris Claiborne didn’t finish their search for help in that area.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that University of Washington cornerback Kevin King is visiting with the team on Monday. King is a big corner at 6’3? and 200 pounds and worked out well at both the Scouting Combine and at his school’s pro day.

King’s teammate Sidney Jones was expected to be a first-round pick before he tore his Achilles during that pro day. King wasn’t ranked quite as high as Jones before the injury, but will likely be the first Huskie corner off the board due to that development.

The Jets have the sixth overall pick, which seems a bit early for King to come off the board but he could be in play when they’re on the board in the second round or if a trade drops them a bit later in the order on the opening night of the draft.

King is a late round 1st rd guy......

Kevin King during the collegiate season was valued at a high 4, low 3 now maybe he is valued close to a late 2nd not first...

With the injury to S. JOnes and King's great off season workouts. He is projected late 1st - possibly early 2nd (not late).... He will not go later than the 40th pick... He is probably the 4th best CB right now behind Lattimore, HUmphrey,Conley... just ahead of Adoree Jackson.

Marshon Lattimore
Marlon Humphrey
TreDavious White
Gareon Conley
Chidobe Awuzie

are the top five corners

after that

Teez Tabor
Ahkello Witherspoon
Kevin King

round out the top 8
the top four are almost locks for first round, depending on need Awuzie could slip at the back end...

Tabor was a top 25 pre Combine, nothing he did wrong just others boosted their stock over him... Now projected top second round within 38th to 42nd range, Witherspoon is also creeping up to overtake as the first corner taken in the second round...

King has had an outstanding off season of late but when the dust settles he should be taken in the 50s which is late 2nd...

KK doesn't have the body type to be a true man cover corner he is more of a Cover 3, Tampa style zone corner... Some idiot team will reach and for the first contract he will disappoint... Athleticism is off the charts but need more to be worthy of a top end selection...

I think a CB is sounding like a real possibility for the Jets in the 2nd round. We need one, the depth in the draft is there, and it looks like we could land a quality player there. I'd prefer that we do that instead of taking Lattimore at #6. I've got a bad feeling about him.

He is a press cover corner... Tabor had an a bad combine and then had a worse Pro day... So you are half right. The other CB's have done better for their stock with their combine and pro day numbers ... He has dropped on every board because he was bad and awful in his workouts. He without question did a lot of wrong. He ran a 4.75 on his pro day....... Conley and King are fighting it out for the 4 spot..... Awuzie is a wild card.. Listen I am not saying we should draft the guy but he is a much better player from what I have seen of him and from all reports
