With Hack not having any playing time and the only playing time Petty got was a few games with a team that basically gave up .... I am not so sure why everyone is so negative on both of them... McCown is insurance if they fail to have a veteran there to just finish the season if necessary... I don't think the jet are playing for the #1 pick. I think they honestly want to see Petty or Hack grab the bull by the horns and show them they have their starting QB for the future. They both have the talent. They are both smart, big, strong arm. Petty was more accurate in College. Hack has played well in a pro-style offense. So I think the Jets know they need to see what they have in these young guys now. Focus on the other area of needs this year and if neither one of them show that they are the guy well next years draft is deeper at QB...... 2017 is a WIN WIN situation..... The Jets are in a better position to rebuild than most teams that have to rebuild usually are if you ask me... The sky isn't falling... Talent is on the roster we just need the improvement from some players in their 2nd and 3rd year (they don't lack the talent) and the production from others who had down years.

I think its some kind of badge of honor for some folks. They're never wrong, because when they are you never hear from them. I don't get the negative attitude. Does that mean I'm unrealistic, not at all, just choose not to be miserable all of the time.

I think you guys are in for a harsh reality when bowles sticks with mccown until were "mathematically" eliminated. the guy is loyal to his veterans, to a fault, ie herm Edwards. However lets not comparae those 2, Herm was light years better then toilet
