Lets be honest, barring anymore trades all we really care about is 1 thru 3

So every two days I'm going to post a poll and let the forum vote on each of the top three picks.

Please DO NOT vote to orchestrate a particular result for the Jets.

Vote for the players you sincerely believe the teams (not you) will select with these picks.

Then I'll post a poll for the Jets based on whats left and the most likely options as I see it.

This first poll is for the Cleveland Browns at #1 Overall.

Thanks

So far I have seen nothing to indicate to me that there is ONE PARTICULAR QB the Browns have fallen in love with.

To the contrary, I heard their GM say we "like" all of these QB's, but so far no indication that there is one they "love"

For that reason and unless that changes, I think they shock the world, take Barkley #1, and are content to take the QB who falls to them at #4

So my vote is for Barkley at #1 Overall and that is my rationale.

I voted for Donald at #1. I can't see Cleveland passing on a QB at #1. Barkley may be a good RB, but there are other good RBs later in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rds. They had Reggie Bush as the next coming of OJ Simpson and he turned into an average back.

I cannot see the Browns passing on Darnold or another QB at 1. They’ll still have a shot at Barkley at #4, or Chubb, Nelson, Fitzpatrick. If they take Barkley at #1, and don’t solve their QB problem long term, that fan base is gonna burn down City Hall in Cleveland.

I'm really curious to see how this goes. Its rare that you can't even predict the #1 Pick with any degree of certainty.

If you look at the mocks, even the "experts" are all over the map on this one, so if you can't even KNOW who is going #1, its impossible to guess who the Jets are taking at #3

Oops, I messed up the title of this thread

What I mean to say was ... TOP 3 .... not TOP 4

We're only gonna do the first three picks, so we can get a board consensus for 1 thru 3 (Jets)

Can a mod please fix the title to reflect TOP 3

Thanks

I would totally agree with you if I saw Darnold as the clear cut #1 QB in this draft, or if I even believed the Browns GM sees it that way, but I don't and so far I haven't seen any indication that the Browns GM does either. That said, if he sees it the way I see it, and frankly the way a lot of people see it, which is 4 QB's that are so closely ranked its impossible to achieve any kind of consensus, and if I thought there was a chance the Giants may stay committed to Eli and take Barkley at 2 (and right now I think thats possible), then I would take Barkley #1, then take my QB at #4

But I understand your POV, if you believe Darnold is clearly the TOP QB, then you have to take him #1

I believe Darnold and Rosen are the best QB’s. That hasn’t changed in over one year for me. My
eye ball test says “these two are franchise QB’s”. When I look at Allen and Mayfield I say “these two could be franchise QB’s. COULD.

That is why I want Rosen. Because I believe the Browns will take Darnold. And I don’t want to gamble on this pick. I want as close to certainty as possible. No boom or busts. I want a safe FQB pick.

Rosen is the Chosen.

I believe Donald is the best QB ready to play. Rosen I believe is committed, but worry about his injury history. Allen has a cannon of an arm and I believe his accuracy is better then most people believe, but my gut tells me he could be another Browning Nagle. Mayfield I see as either the best of the bunch or a disaster.

The Browns could take the Jets approach, take Barkley at 1 and whatever QB falls to them at 4 they’re more than happy to draft. That’s if they have the top 3 ranked evenly.

You make a ton of sense, particularly if the Browns' brain-trust is of the same thinking as the Jets. Assuming you hold onto the #1 pick, at #4 you are assured of one of the top 3 or 4 QBs. Why not then take Barkley at #1 and have your choice of the one of the top 4 QBs whomever that is? With Tyrod Taylor as the bridge they can afford to wait on each of the 4. That situation would be perfect for a guy like Allen to sit and learn.
