One of my favorites from the SB team Look at all the points he scored against Oakland, Colts & KC in 68 & 69 playoff games. He should be in the hall of fame & I don't think he made the Jets ring of honor.....I hope I am wrong on this last part,. Very sad

I think I told you guys the story
My dad who is a retired police captain from Paterson worked the opening of a major bank downtown.
Jim was kicking field goals in the lot . I wasn’t there but he got me an autograph football from him to me and the ink is just about faded off that you can barley read it anymore

My dad was at a golf tournament with Joe DiMaggio
He was signing autographs
My moms name is Marilyn.
Without thinking my dad says to Joe
“ can you sign it to Marilyn?”
He gave him a dirty look and just signed his name without my dad even getting it till he came home

Favorite of mine too, played more years for Denver than the Jets. Got Bobby Howfield in the trade. Not the best move in Jets history

Played QB too and completed a couple of passes back in '67 (or so). Combined with Namath for 440 yds that day. Started on and off in college at QB at Utah St. Split time with a future NFL starter but forgot which one

One of the worst moves the Jets made. Trading Jim Turner for Howfield. Wanted Howfield because they thought his kickoffs were deep into the endzone. They were average kickoffs. His FGs is what killed us.
