Joe Claims Montrel Meanders Off Waivers

Joe has made his first addition to the Jets by claiming CB Montrel Meanders off waivers. I don't know anything about him except that he was on the Browns practice squad for awhile then went to the Raiders and was recently cut from the team. I'm guessing he is just adding more competition for that position. I do know that Joe is familiar with him.

He’s 6’2 and 215 lbs
went undrafted out of Grambling state, believe.

He is assembling high character guys who are loyal to him or the coaches. Guys he won't worry about causing headaches, and will also sing his praises to teammates.

I Googled it and read multiple reports that he ran a 4.42 or 4.44

I guess it was at his pro day, thus the varying stop watch times, but everything I could find had him running in the 4.4’s

That would be a terrific time when you consider his size; 6’ 2"/215

Speed is certainly good at that position and it would appear that Joe is trying to improve and solidify our corners because he also just signed Mark Myers.

Not sure Meander is what anyone would call a high character guy. Hs a rapist who had his charges dropped after his Accomplice was found not guilty. All the jurors said they believed him guilty but we're instructed that if the found any discrepancy in testimony that equates to doubt. There was even photo evidence on one of their cell phones.

At this point anyone that can play CB for us might be able to help. If the staduim janitors, ushers and cheerleaders can play CB then sign them and may the best person(s) win.
