Joseph is fairly explosive, exhibits solid change of direction ability. He has impressive long speed. Ngata has quick feet at the line of scrimmage indicative of a potentially dangerous release package. He employs a hesitation move to freeze defenders before exploding.

Joseph's route running improved as gained experience and confidence. He has great body control to stay inbounds at the sideline with the ball in the air. Ngata is a reliable hands catcher, with a wide catch radius. He uses his frame to shield the ball on short routes.

Ngata has creatively to make the first defender miss. He also displays decent power and contact balance. Joseph is an impressive blocker. He uses his length, strength and persistent leg drive to walk defenders back. He offers immediate special teams value as a returner and blocker.

Joseph Ngata Areas for Improvement

Ngata durability is a big concern. He plays with physicality but needs to get stronger. He needs to improve his route tree and be more sudden in his breaks. He has the ability to contort his body to make sideline catches but needs to be more consistent not using a push off to create separation.
