I like it. Look at this way: 100 mil for Sam.
Fields gets a third of that guaranteed.
I'll take the Fields deal everyday and twice on Sunday.
Now a WR in the 1st?
Or TE?
Trade out and get another 2nd?

I'm pleased with this signing especially since we won't be reaching for an immediate solution at QB. Let's see what else they do in FA regarding RT, WR, etc. A really good get at 7 would be Membou to complete the OL if we don't sign FA. If we do, then Tyler Warren might be an option who is a solid in line blocker plus a very good receiving TE.
I'm betting that having his old team mate Garrett Wilson on the roster had something to do with him coming here.
This is a big plus.........................we can take a QB in a later round now and at much less risk of a bust signing.
This screams ground and pound offense.
That would probably be a reasonable assumption. To solidify that line of thought they will need to add a GOOD RT and also probably tight end. I suspect that the #7 pick will be one of those positions. Just a gut feeling. Our TE room is weak and Morgan Moses has signed with our ENEMY the Pats.

I hear you and appreciate your optimism. Fields actually could revitalize his career and become the guy. You never know. I still think the Jets will sign a QB in the later rounds just on the off chance that they might find that diamond in the rough.
