I get the structure at the Jets is unusual but not unprecented. I understand your point, but I don't believe that the current structure is dysfunctional. Bowles, Mac and Chris Johnson seem to be working well together, and appear to be on the same page. They have a plan. The Jets are rebuilding - that's the bottom line. I would add that the Jets did get to two AFC Championship games with this structure, so it can work with the right team in place. The current Jets just need more talent. In my opinion, they're on that path. We can have a separate discussion about how far away they are.
With all due respect, it doesn't matter what you think. It looks like the opinion arou d the league is that we are dysfunctional. Woody has been costing us since before he actually owned the team (Belichick) and what he's put in place is continuing to cost us. I find it really hard to see us winning anything while he owns the team.

The LOLJets mantra long precedes this administration. Even when the Jets are good, they get bashed. National outlets bash them because they are a NY team and because they haven't won a SB in so long, and local NY media bash them because the Giants, and not the Jets, are the establishment team. So the Jets get the abuse both at home and on the road.

Honestly, it's just background noise at this point because it doesn't matter what the Jets do, the haters will hate. Hell, they talked about a circus when the Jets were going to consecutive AFC title games. Nobody gave the Jets respect for that, whereas other organizations get lauded for it. Winning won't even cure it. It's a cultural bias against the Jets.

One thing that I think gets overlooked by us Jets fans re: 2009-10 is that we were a wildcard team both years. In 2009 were not a dominant team at all at 9-7. We were a team that snuck into the playoffs and went on a run. 2010 we were 11-5 but we lost 3 of our last 5 and limped in... Not to take anything away from those playoff runs, but it's not like they were magical years while they were happening. 1998 was the year you believed they would win it. 12-4 and beating the good teams.... what happened in Denver was a heartbreaker.
