Defense did a great job stuffing the run. Pass defense was good, too. They gave up a lot of garbage time yards when the game was over. We've been all over Cro lately, but he had a good game overall today. Much better. And I'm fully on board the Marcus Wiliams train. Dude was ballin' today.
nice to get a much needed win before the wheels completely fell off this season..

still in the hunt..

I reviewed 15 pregame predictions from our "experts and media insiders"

Amazingly 11 predicted the Jets would win

One of the four who predicted a win.for the rotting fish was of course

Matt Snell has every right to stay home from the ceremony.. None of us know exactly what went down with him and the team. God knows this franchise has done a lot of stupid things in the past.

Matt Snell has no voice these days and if he wants to stay away from a team PR event, it's his right and I don't think anyone has the right to judge him for doing so

Let's be honest here, a lot of players from his generation were treated very poorly by their teams and by the NFL. A lot of them were discarded and left to live with debilitating body and brain injuries. I hope Snell doesn't have these issues but I am sure on at least some level he does.... I would be pissed too, if I watched the NFL fight tooth and nail to deny compensation and benefits to me and my comrades who sacrificed their body to build the league.

Any word on Williams injury? Would be a big loss if he can't go next weekend.

Interesting observation. Even with Williams going down early, Millinar didn't receive even one rep in a game that Miami threw the ball on almost every play.

Guys been healthy for almost 2 months, have a feeling he'll be changing zip codes in the off season

I disagree... I think Bowles knows the talent he has and is not gonna rush him back... Make sure he is 100% healthy mentally and physically. As well as let him sit back and watch how Revs prepares and feel the burn of having an undrafted player in Williams play before because of the effort he puts in, in his preparation... I think he is doing the right thing with Milliner and it will pay dividends next season.....

I love Walls as the fill in guy... But I much rather see our CB depth Chart next year look lke this

Revis
Williams
Skrines
Milliner
McDougle

Talent wise still one of the best in the league

Bowles said a few weeks ago when Milliner was first eligible to return to the 53, that he actually was healthy since week 4, he just couldn't find a roster spot for him, and didn't add him to the roster.

Why would Bowles save Milliner for next year? If he wanted to do that he could have just let him go to full season IR. Jets are fighting tooth and nail for a play off spot. Have several injured CB's and they are going to save a 100% healthy Milliner for next year?

Just don't see that scenario. He's not playing because right now he rates out as the #7 CB behind Revis, Cro, Williams, Skrine, Walls, McDougle.

If the Jets were locked into a play off spot maybe there would be some sense to playing a mind game with Milliner. Right now if they thought much of him he'd be out there.

Milliner could be healthy, but the Achilles injury while healed may have had a lasting impact on his burst and change of direction ability. I'm no MD, but I read that once and he may never get those quick twitch qualities so important to CBs back again. Maybe it just takes longer for that injury, and Bowles is not rushing him back when we don't really have to. I'm hoping the latter is true because quality CBs are critical.

that's the thing, I don't think he is 100% healthy.... That's why he is on the roster.... He may be super close but I think the FO is being super cautious with him.

IDK JMO, i could be wrong.. According to my GF I usually am 90% of the time... But she's a Patriots fan so her opinion doesn't matter.. LOL!!

The bolded part may very well be true, certainly hope not. Bowles hasn't shown any problem in rushing other players back from injury. Any one notice Fitz cradling his left arm in his right hand when they showed him on the side line. Dudes in pain.

I have nothing against Milliner, even liked the pick at the time. Except for the last couple of weeks of his rookie season he hasn't shown anything.
Hope you guys are right and Bowles as saving him for something, just don't see it

Why would Bowles lie and say he was 100%, but he still didn't add him to the roster? Doesn't make any sense. If anything the reverse would be true. Lie and say he wanted to give him another week to heal. He didn't add him to the roster because he thought the other CB's were better.

Think it's a reach to say he not playing because he's not 100%, when the coach is saying he is.

Than the only reason he is on the roster is for trade purposes.... Maybe in the offseason.. IDK... it's an interesting situation.

Serious question......What do you speculate his trade value would be? Very shaky rookie season. Benched 3 times for poor play. had some nice games the last month giving some hope. Really hasn't been on the field since, including a torn Achilles. As Old 15 has pointed out an Achilles can be a career ender for a CB.

Now in the last 1/4 of his 3rd season, he's a healthy scratch, on a team with CB injuries, and Cro being very up and down. Mostly down. Don't think most teams would give a bag of day old donuts.

As I said above, I liked Milliner when he was drafted, I guess I'll just hold out a glimmer of hope that the kid can come back to full potential. if he's still on the bench next week against Eli, with Williams more then likely out, that glimmer is going to dim a good bit.

Last season at this time some were calling for the cutting of the following busts

Calvin Pryor
Brian Winters
Marcus Williams
Darren Walls
Quincy Enunwa
Dex McDougle

All of whom are contributing this season

I don't think anyone was calling for M. Williams to be cut last year... He was the surprise of the defense last year.. Did nothing but get better and better every week. And McDougle was out for the year so I am sure no one was asking for a player we didn't get to see play to be cut....

With that said many were relentless on Winters, Walls and even Pryor.

1 Winters has greatly imporved
2 Walls is better in a spot role and fill in guy than as a starter... Perfect depth for us this year
3 Pryor is playing his proper role

I equate all of these improvements to better coaching.

Coaching and the fact that they aren't being relied on to carry the team. Last year, we had no one. Now these people are just role players. Above average role players that people are not screaming to produce immediately. We can be patient because we have people playing at their positions already.

I think in other years, people would be calling for Leonard Williams to produce more but haven't heard much of that.
