WR John Metchie.
Frees up considerable cap space going forward

I guess this was really just a cap move. We'll see if Metchie is worth the roster spot, he hasn't shown much as a WR, but he is also playing behind to Pro bowl WR's.

Metchie missed a lot of time due to some rare lukemia

Fact is that Carter hasn't been worth the deal he got; both the injuries, Brownlee and mediocre performance made him expendable. Couple this with cap savings and adding WR depth, good move IMHO.

So they've had Michael Carter and Michael Carter II, The Sequel and they weren't ring of honor players but did contribute.

Now the formula is to wait about 10 years or so and roll out another, "Michael Carter III : Just When I Thought I was Out, They Pull Me Back In" and in accordance with common occurrence, that one will not work out at all
