I listened the Mike's interview yesterday and it had me thinking about the almost ten doctors he consulted. I'm sure some if not most of the doctors gave him a window of time to heal. I don't know what was said, but I read online that a cracked rib takes six weeks to heal. Every case is different but if it's anywhere close to that it would knock him out for the remainder of this year. Almost ten second opinions is a bit much for anyone let alone an athlete. Saleh said that he felt that he had to protect the player from the player. That suggests Mike White would risk doing further damage to himself to keep his position as a starter. There's no telling his future once he's back to backup. Plus he's a free agent in the off season.
I will say this much. If Zach succeeds it will lower the amount of money White will be offered. There's not much of a sample of games (five) to go on. If he re-signs, he'll compete for a starters job. If he signs elsewhere is it to be a given starter, or will he have to prove himself again? But to put him at risk because he wants to play doesn't help him health wise. He could puncture a long or have internal bleeding. Then the talk becomes why is he out there anyway?
