If Quinnen Williams slides to #3 I would take him.

Of course it doesn't matter what I would or wouldn't do, I'm not making the pick, but if I was I would take Q and switch to a base 4-3.

Doesn't matter who else is on the board.

If it's Q or Bosa, I'm taking Q.

If it's Q or Allen, I'm taking Q.

If it's Q or ANYBODY, I'm taking Q.

Why?

If you told me only one player from this draft will have a HOF career and I have to bet my life on which player that is?

I have to go with Quinnen Williams, the most dominant defensive player in college football last year who reminds me of Jerome Brown.

Well nobodies life is on the line, but if I use that test as my guide, and I think it's a pretty good test to use, I have to take Q if he's there at #3.

That said, even if the Cards take Murray (which is not guaranteed), I still can't see Q getting past both Arizona and the 49ers.

It might happen, but I don't see it, I think he's the best player in the draft and nobody (including Bosa) is a close second.

he obviously didn't turn out to be.. obviously..

what's different about this interior defensive lineman??

& why would pairing him up with leonard williams work any better than pairing him up with richardson & wilkerson when they still gave a shit about playing football??

Wow, strong words and views on this kid and you might be right. Q might be gone by #3 and none of this will matter but if he isn’t then what do the Jets do? I personally don’t want another 300 pound dline men drafted for a while but if he’s this good then you can’t argue this. Problem is, just 3-4 years ago L. Williams was supposed to be this and he isn’t. He decent at best but definitely not living up to his intial hype. Every player is a crap shoot pretty much, until they prove in the NFL that their not!

J13 & J82, it's our fault that Leonard Williams is not the player we thought he would be when we drafted him.

Well not really our fault as in us, but our fault as in Bowles and Rogers.

If you take just about any penetrating D-lineman (like Leo and Q) and stick him in a 3-4, you neutralize his ability to rush the QB even more than the opposing coach. The opposing coach has to account for him anyway, but you are doing him a big favor if you draft a Leo or Q and stick him in a 3-4, that's why I said "... and I would switch to a 4-3." There's no way I would do the same thing to Q that we did to Leo.

To the contrary, I'd switch to a 4-3 and unleash the both of them!

I understand there is no such thing as a sure thing, all I can tell you is I watched every Alabama Game in 2018, at most I may have missed one but I don't recall missing any of them, and if I had a vote for the Heisman I would have voted for Quinnen Williams. Rarely do defensive players win the award, but Q was such a wrecking machine, week after week, that he would have had my vote. I've been watching college football for a long time and this kid was truly one of the two or three most dominant defensive players I have ever seen in college football.

In my last mock I projected him to the 49ers at #2, but if the Cards don't take Murray they might take Q at #1

Until the Jets draft Q or JA I don't believe the Jets have settled on a formation... and if it's 4-3 Mr Lee it was nice knowing you... Get the Jets a third at least for him... IMO Thursday we will know what formation the Jets will run as a base

Either one that they draft and I think Lee is gone anyway. Drafting Q and going to the 4-3, Lee will definitely not be needed. Drafting Allen and staying the 3-4, Lee can either come off the bench at MLB or convert to OLB and fight Jenkins for the other starting spot. We all know Allen will be the other starter regardless. So what’s the point in keeping him either way when we can hopefully get a third for him???

I want a pass rusher Allen, Sweat or Bosa. Or get multiple picks and fix the OL. I don't care if Q is the best player in the draft. There is only one Donald and those players usually don't affect the game.

If we are staying at 3 and the 3-4 system I pick Allen. I believe that Gregg Williams decided to play the 3-4 based on the roster and isn't likely to change that opinion for one incoming college player that may or may not play at the same level when he reaches the NFL. He has said that based on whichever team we are playing he might occasionally revert to the 4-3.

I would’ve been happy with Allen, Bosa or Q. All three are studs who provide elite pass rush, albeit from different angles.

Part of what made Q a great prospect was his versatility. He dominated at Alabama playing NT. And he can play multiple positions on the d-line. 4-3 or 3-4. Doesn’t matter.

I think he starts over McClendon.

Gang Green has no reason to stay 3-4 ....play Leo Q McC and Andersen ..Luvu and Jenkins hopefully are coached up to be situational Rushers

This was the smart pick - take the best player available. He was. This kid can play and can dominate. He'll free Leonard Williams up and I wouldn't be shocked if he looks like the player we expected when we drafted him. Henry Anderson had a very good year last year, and can play. It's a very, very good d-line now.
