New GM Candidates

Philadelphia's always had a pretty good offensive line and they did draft Dilliard this year. Can only hope Douglas or anyone they choose realizes you can't win without the guys in front of Darnold being able to protect him and also open up holes for Bell.

The Jets have added Terry Fontenot, director of pro scouting for the Saints, to their GM interview list according to Ian Rapoport.

I think Joe Douglas gave us the Anthony Barr treatment, but I'm intrigued by some of the candidates, including Fontenot.

Maybe, but I think not. He will be interviewing with the Jets this weekend and the Eagles have already hired his possible replacement, Andrew Berry, from the Browns. It looks more and more like Douglas is our guy.

Yeah, Douglas has accepted the interview request, and the Iggles have granted permission. He will meet with the team over the weekend. The question is how quickly afterward a decision is made. I sense he's the guy, if they have gotten that far.

That's my gut feeling also. I've also read in several different places that in addition to bringing some of his staff with him there is a strong possibility that Champ Kelly might be filling the other open position and working under him. That wouldn't hurt my feelings either. I'm not sure how much faith I have in this last part but several sites have alluded to the possibility. It shouldn't be long before we hear one way or the other because the media is really hot to trot on this hiring.

Paton has been linked with several jobs over the past couple seasons, but he has either declined interview requests or been blocked by the Vikings. Eagles VP of player personnel Joe Douglas is the favorite for the Jets job.

Heard somewhere that Douglas was a done deal before the draft and just a matter of when it will be announced, Monday maybe

No surprise here. He's been turning down interviews for everyone for much of the last 12 years. Some say it's because he doesn't feel ready for a GM job yet and is quite happy to play second fiddle to Spielman. Nothing wrong with staying put if you're happy. I'd rather have Douglas or Kelly anyway.
