all GMs have the bystander gene in them.........key is understanding when to let your HC keep digging his grave alone and when you pick up a shovel and help. Gase did enough that JD knew he needed to do little to gain control of team destiny. That all started when he demanded the 6 year contract. Knew it was no overnight fix. Probably didn't take long to understand Gase was not the answer either.
