So, here we are interviewing coaches.

Do we have a GM yet?

would our new coach want to know who the new GM is going to be before taking a job here?

wouldnt our new GM want at least a part in picking the next coach?

are the good ole jets doing things ass backwards again/still?

so, pretty sure Ron Rivera interviewed already, Vrabel was in yesterday, and Rex is due in Tuesday

in my opinion, Vrabel will use the jets to get more money from a real football team as he will surely be #1 on many real teams coaching lists

Rivera doesn’t really excite me. Not sure of his feelings, but why would he join the Jets if he had any other offer, and why would the jets want him if he had no other offers?

that leaves Rex. We all love Rex. Can he fix the mess? Hell no. No one can, but he’ll say yes if offered the job and he’ll make things plenty fun around here

I'm just picturing the whole mess getting f’ed up because of the timing of things here

We don't have anything yet but in regards to Vrabel it has been said by several of these so called insider experts that if he can't coach the Patriots the Jets would have a strong possibility of landing him IF they hired the right GM. I would think that even Woody would have sense enough to find out who that would be while they were conducting the interview, but then, we are talking about Woody the Owner that gets his pro football advice from a teenager. Personally I think landing Vrabel even if they have to over pay would be the best chance for turning this team around. There are other good prospects available or soon to be available but I think Vrabel has a heavier foot and greater willingness to use it than the others mentioned so far that would even consider coming here.

The next GM/HC are going to be the fall guys for the train wreck of the next two seasons or so. The positions would suit older guys who have thick skins, one eye on retirement and indifference to being sacked after two years as long as they get paid. Might as well 'run it back with Ulbrich'.

As detailed elsewhere, either we lose Rodgers and take a cap hit which means we can't sign our young talent (or surround them with such dross that the young guys mail it in) or we reach an accommodation with Rodgers and have a geriatric QB who has the organisation by the balls.

Regardless, the fan solution will be to sack the GM/HC.

Vrabel is the obvious choice imo. Proven no nonsense HC WITH big game experience as a Coach and Player. The only question is can He handle NY?
I think so.
The only thing that could screw it up is that Vrabel is too smart to come to this Circus of a Franchise.

Depends on who Vrable brings as OC. Pederson or Reich would be good. Steichen if fired from Colts.

Obviously Mr happy ending fired mayonnaise so he could hire Vrabel and keep him from the jets

this leaves Rex as the only choice, good or bad. Everyone else will say no anyway or at least they should

What about Jerrod Mayo??? I’d say the Jets should interview him and go after him hard! Imagine the Jets hiring him and it working out for 20-plus years. That would be throwing it right back in the Patriots freaking faces in the biggest way!
