Chris Mortensen said on ESPN’s Sportscenter that the investigation is still not complete and the league is still looking to determine how the footballs became under-inflated.

The degree to which Goodell will play dumb and insult our intelligence to protect the Pats never ceases to amaze me.

But watch, he'll throw the friggin' book at Woody for an ill-advised, but relatively harmless off-the-cuff remark.

Just look at the difference between the way he treated Belichick for SpyGate and how he dropped the hammer on Sean Payton for something teams have been doing in this league since its inception. Now I gotta hear this garbage, the league is trying to determine how the balls were deflated? What, until Goodell destroys the evidence again?

As repeat offenders, the patriots should be docked multiple draft picks and fined $750,000 or more. Although I don't think the NFL will come down hard on the patriots, the thing that may work against the patriots is the fact that the NFL has gone through hell this year with off the field issues like ray rice and other domestic violence issues. They may use the patriots as an example and come down hard on them in order to regain some prestige that was lost during the ray rice incident.

It's not that they deflated their balls, for me at least, it's that they've cheated on more than one occasion and nothing ever seems to happen to them other than a slap on the wrist. At some point the commissioner needs to make an example out of them to show them that the rules are ironclad and that no team can change them for their own benefit.

There's a difference between what Woody and the Patriots did. Woody is just a goof ball and didn't understand that what he was saying about Revis was tampering. The Patriots understand that they are cheating but do it anyways and when they are asked about it they laugh it off like they are above the law. If the Jets lose a draft pick and the Patriots get off something is clearly wrong with this league.
