Nick Foles anyone?

It would probably cost a second round pick to aquire Foles. He is under contract for 2018 and I can't see any scenario where the Eagles waive him. If they did, he wouldn't get past the Browns.
I could see the Eagles trading him after Wentz comes back healthy ,but not before
He still has never played a full season so there is risk that comes with signing him.
The Eagles have a very solid roster, which made trading up for Wentz a good move.
If nothing else, this should be proof that with the right roster , an average to slightly above average QB can win a Super Bowl.
?????? Let's remember, Sanchez outplayed Foles recently.
I know some of the Jets fanbase are saying he Beat Brady. We have to sign him, but unless I'm mistaken, Brady wasn't playing Defense on Sunday. LOL
Yep. Can't see them getting rid of him until Wentz is on the field playing well again. It costs them $14mm in QBs to keep them both. What's the recovery to e for Wentz anyway? I imagine there's an outside chance he's not ready to start the season.

And Foles TD reception came on an illegaI formation and should have been called back.;)
Brady as much as I know you will hate to hear, is the G.O.A.T. Foles played a great game, not taking that away from him, but he is not even in the top 10 of the current QBs in the game.

He may be on the greatest team of all time which might make him appear to be the best ever. Trade him with another great QB and many would have at least as many wins as brady if they played in the cheatahs system for 20 years. imagine if Joe Montana stood behind an oline that never allowed him to get hit. I'd bet if Peyton Manning were a cheetah for the past 20 years and brady was a Colt/Bronco, brady probably wouldn't have made to the Bronco part and Peyton would have had more than six Superbowl wins. Put Rodgers or Brees on the Cheatahs, same thing, Rothlesburger and so many others. Of course, that's my opinion and we can never know who's right

just for fun, where do you think brady would be today if our Jets had drafted him. I hope we get to see belichick and brady on different teams just to see which one is the reason for the winning. You know, I can't stand either one but if forced to give credit to one it would be belichick. my buddy who plays in the NFL always says brady is smart enough to keep his mouth shut because he knows belichick can just plug in another qb and the cheatahs will keep on winning. And he's a BC guy who likes the cheatahs. anyway, that's just 2 opinions

I really shouldn't pick on Brady so much. He went out and proved what a good guy he is in this Superbowl. After Welker dropped that pass in the Giants Superbowl, Gisselle said, her "Tommy can't throw the ball and catch it too". Guess Brady wanted to make her look good by proving her point. What a good husband. I knew I'd eventually find some good in the guy:global (6):

Ok. I just watched the superbowl in quick time on NFL network. Wow. Plenty of time, wide open would describe pretty much every play for brady. I don't think anybody on defense got within 5 yards of him except the one time when he fumbled and then on the last failed drive.

Foles, in the other hand saw his fair share of pressure and threaded the needle nicely, many times. Definitely it played Brady in this game. I don't care how many yards Brady had, he should have had a ton as he had all day to throw to wide open guys just as he always does.

It's only 1 game, but Foles won it and outplayed Brady too

Foles is signed for next year at $7mm and even if he were to sign a long term deal, he's not getting $25mm per. If he does, then I totally agree. If he gets in the $15-18 range, and costs a second and fifth, then I sign him. There would be plenty left over to sign a corner (EJ Gaines or Butler), a guard (Norwell), Trey Burton, TE, a WR (Allen Robinson) and Ryan Jensen, C.

His contract for next year is meaningless. If traded it will only be with the agreement of a long term deal, unless it's later in the season and a team is desperate, then maybe they part with a second round pick and go the franchise route if they can't get a deal done.
He just won the Super Bowl. In fact he was MVP. Played amazingly at the highest level.
His contract will reflect as much. Every time a QB signs an extension , the market is reset and QB salaries increase. Those are the simple economics of the NFL.

I think he was expected to be ready for the opening of the regular season but wasn't there news a week or two ago that it was more than an ACL and the LCL or meniscus was also torn?
It could be a very costly mistake to rush him back if not fully recovered.

If the Jets drafted Brady he would probably be out of the league for years , just as he would have been if Mo Lewis hadn't knocked out Bledsoe. The Patriots we're trying to replace him that preseason , going as far as trying to get Harbaugh and Zolak out of retirement.
As great as Belichick is, Brady has to go out and execute and he does much more often than not.
I hate Both , but have to admit that they are the best coach and best QB the NFL has seen. And the best tandem .

That was funny. My comment to my son at the moment watching that play we're "Giselle is about to Tweet My husband should have thrown that pass to himself. The rest of the team can't catch or pass!"

I agree. brady still has to be very good. my point has always been that any of the great qb's of our time would also have at least 6 superbowls had they been in that system for 18 years. I believe Peyton might have had 10 superbowls had he been a cheetah. on the other hand, put brady somewhere else where he doesn't have all day to throw from day 1 of his career. That is huge. he never has had to feel the fear of being blind sided like most young fb's. brady doesn't change that team into the cheatahs. would brady be better on the Colts than Andrew Luck?

look, this whole cheetah empire is situational. belichick is a great coach, but what if he didn't have the opportunity to go to a Parcells built patriot team(not just my words. this was also brought up on the two Bills) and then bring in most of Parcells coaching staff and a year later, all the Parcells guys from the Jets. Maybe this whole thing never happens. All these pieces had to luckily fall into place. What if the "tuck rule" was never called? Maybe none of this happens.

All the stars had to align for this empire to exist. Unfortunately they never align for our Jets. the curse lives on
