Disregarding the fact that it appeared in a Packers publication, there is currently a chart showing a lot of statistical material about the effects of the number of draft picks a team makes and retains.
HYATT™ doesn't believe any real indisputable conclusions can be taken away from the chart in the article, (compiled by the Green Bay Press-Gazette Media over 50 painstaking hours of research), but it may be of some interest to stats geeks and data buffs as it covers not only Green Bay but all 32 teams in the NFL - including the Jets.
The chart is sortable.

Click on the link in the first line of Hyatt's post -- it will take you to the full article with the chart. That link works -- I got the same error clicking on the last link.

Probably the biggest takeaway for me is that the Jets have only had 74 picks since 2005 while the Packers have made 104. Result of the Tanny years where we had a couple of seasons with only 3 or 4 picks. More than anything else, I think that impacted the depth on this team over the last few years.

2nd linky to chart ONLY - should be fixed now, but HYATT™ can't swear to how long it'll remain that way.

Sometimes the original host moves things around on their servers and voids any linkys that previously existed to it.

HYATT™ had to dig into the web page workings just to get it initially, as no linky exists to a "chart only" display.

Those of you interested in a personal copy for home use, you can open the 2nd linky to the chart only and "Save page as" with your browser's downloader, but be sure to click the selection arrow in the second box at the bottom of the downloader dialogue box and choose the 2nd option to save it as "Web page HTML only".
That'll save it locally as one .htm file instead of the web page + an associated folder containing the separate html and java script elements.
It's just as functional/sortable, just a way to save it as a single file.
