You can bet that's exactly what it was.

Couple years back I was called to jury duty. it was a drug case and we were told it was going to take 2-3 weeks. At the time I was running a company (since sold it) and we were slammed with work. Missing 2-3 weeks work would cost me thousands of dollars.

Every one was trying to get out of it, and getting turned down. When the prosecutor interviewed me I told her, I was opposed to putting people in prison for drugs, and thought that they were victims of an illness, not criminals, and would be hard pressed to put him in prison on moral grounds.. She got furious, but I was released from jury duty.

I've been called for jury duty twice and both times I told them that I was falsely accused of the same crime that the defendant was being accused of and the prosecutors immediately let me go. I don't even remember what the crimes were.
