2. Permanent funding of predominantly black colleges and universities (Permanently reauthorizes and provides $255 million in annual mandatory funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other Minority Serving Institutions).
3. Opportunity Zones (CNBC - A key White House program to reduce racial inequity has benefited big real estate projects more than minority-owned businesses, a study found.) So not as successful yet as planned, but long term would provide more jobs in the communities.
4. Trump is fighting for school choice so that families don't have to be stuck in under-performing schools. This has been an uphill fight with teachers' unions, but from a civil rights standpoint would be a huge plus for all low income families.
5. The number of unarmed Black shooting victims is down 63% from 2015, when Obama was president. There are about 7,300 Black homicide victims a year. The 14 unarmed victims (through June 22, 2020) in fatal police shootings would comprise only 0.2% of that total.

I'm sure there are more, but the first Black president, Obama did none of this.

Why not move it to the off topic section instead of showing censorship? You & others did not complain on the Trump joke back a few months ago that is still up in that section by the way? I say he is not a racist a positive thing but a joke about the president is OK....... IMO both are OK as I was not asking for a vote for anyone on here.......but again I will stay out of this. there is more racial division in this country than at any point in my lifetime & it all happened under trump's watch, not obama's..

tell you something else about obama.. he didn't lock up (& then permanently separate) brown people & their. babies in concentration camps where the conditions & lack of medical care caused death & unimaginable mental trauma..

obama wasn't a perfect president but he wasn't a global embarrassment/ghoul either..

Protesting is not the ends, it is only one of the means to the end. That is to say - it is a way to voice your opinion to effectuate change. Unless you possess a substantial amount of wealth or hold political office or you are extremely well connected to those in political power, the options to initiate change are limited. Protests are one of those means. How effective they are is a different question.

Jet fans have protested over the years - and it has worked. Billboards, planes flying over practice, avoiding purchasing Jets products, selling season tickets or dropping them all together - all forms of protest, just on a smaller scale. Protests take many forms. These athletes are protesting in a way that their platform affords.

I dont eat kraft mac and cheese, I use Schick razors rather then gillete and I stopped going to the same spa that kraft goes to, to protest the cheatahs, but they still win every damn superbowl

I have had the advantage of working with police for about 20 years. The good the bad & the ugly. Our family had the privilege of knowing the president years ago. He is not a racist, & he cares about all people. We were improving in the areas of what they were/are protesting. Imo this is not about what they say they are protesting for. This is hurting the country.

I don't know him, but I don't believe him to be a racist either. And he absolutely wants to go down as the best president ever so he certainly wants to make the country better than it was to achieve this unlike other politicians who just want to advance their friends or there monetary supporters

I'm not going to comment on politics or share my political views. I think we should keep this board limited to sports, and the impact of these issues on the sports world as fans. The second we go down the rabbit hole of choosing political sides or of advocating for one candidate over another, this could get very ugly. And that's not why we come here. We come here to talk about the Jets. There are plenty of other forums to debate politics.

With that being said - I will say that I know this for sure - this country needs to heal, physically and psychologically. I don't care what side of the political spectrum you sit on, the hardened divisiveness needs to stop. If we don't find a way as a society to communicate better and solve our problems, things will get much, much worse.

agreed. I really dont folow politics. I am not a fan of polititians in general. I think anyone who's a politian should have to be a middle class person. rich people can not possibly feel the pain of the poor or the frustration of the middle class

as I said, I really dont follow politics, so I have no facts to back anything up but if I just went on what I hear on the little bit of the news that I can tolerate, I would have to say that Trump is the biggest ass there ever was. If your post is true, that would prove the news false. I hope the counyry is getting better as I hope the same for the Jets

forget the last 4 years, you are aware he took out a full page add in a NYC paper calling for the executions of the then central park 5.. i say then because now they are know as the exonerated 5, because DNA evidence proved those then black & brown boys did not rape that woman..

to this day, he stands by his belief they are still guilty.....

i won't even get started on the housing discrimination lawsuits for not renting to black tenants in the 70's..
