Podcast of why Mims is in the doghouse

This was my comment on this topic and it may not make much sense but still, this is the way I feel about it:

Mims should be one of the main guys, with his talent and size, he can learn as he goes. I guess I’m not thinking about this rationally and of course the coaches know more than I do but DAMN. This kid has talent and size that is rare and they need to use that constantly!

IMO, he needs to be the starter opposite of Corey Davis and the rest the guys can swap in and out in the slot. I’m sure they have plenty of 4 and 5 WRs sets where he can constantly be on the field. Just my opinion though, I guess!

Here’s another perspective and I agree with this totally. They gotta find away to get this kid on the field. There’s no reason Mims shouldn’t be on the field at least 30 snaps of the game. I don’t care who’s healthy, injured or who else is on the field, Mims should be there as well!

Now don’t get me wrong, if Mims learning curve is that bad and they don’t want it to hinder Zach’s growth and production. Then he shouldn’t be on the field as much as let’s say Crowder or Davis. So I would think a happy medium would be about 25 to 30 snaps. That will give Mims the experience he needs and a chance to produce and for Zach to grow with him. Just my opinion though.

Mims not in the doghouse like both of them stated last year his rookie season he was up shits creek without paddle... First and foremost no off season his rookie year... He comes from a team that throws basically go routes, so his route running is sub par... And the biggest get he had the "Brilliant Offensive Mind" conducting the offense... Remember no one but the quarterback was what that asshole cared about... Still in his rookie season he made some vertical jumping catches landed on his ass while still retaining possession of the catch... Now what happen this off season, food poisoning tainted salmon whatever... Lost weight again not a big deal but with this new regime implementing a new scheme acquiring Keelan Cole and Corey Davis through free agency and getting Jamison Crowder to restructure his contract while still having roles for Braxton Berrios and they are looking to fit in Jeff Smith into the swing things, Mims needs to step it up in practice and when he gets his shot on game day keep doing what he is doing making plays in his limited play time...

by the end of the season we will be seeing Mims averaging 20 plays a game while making 4 to 6 catches a game and helping the offense to be lights out in the passing attack...

patience, he will get his shots...

25-30 snaps is the key, 20 at the least! Give the kid a chance to show what he’s got. With his talent and size, he’ll produce just off that alone. Let him learn and grow on the field. He’s a gamer!!!

The thing that comes to mind here is his knowledge level at running routes at all three positions. We're not pulling Davis or Crowder for him and currently he's listed behind Davis in the depth chart. He's got to improve at the Z position to get his best shot, or (gulp) Davis goes down. Ultimately, the depth and competition at wide out should make him a triple threat.

They are trying to make him a better player, which is consistent with Saleh's teaching mantra. The big question, and its a delicate one is the player's psyche with the lack of playing time. If he is strong-willed, then the long term benefits to both him and team will be great.

he practices hard and knows what they want from him...
this is more the fans seeing him being productive for a big gain and bitchin' that he should be more a part of the offense...

the coaching staff can carve a role for him, or they want him to develop and there is no news from this team that says otherwise...
