PREGAME REPORT
Well the last week has been just as tumultuous as the Jets season to
date. With a record snowstorm hitting half of Buffalo, we weren’t
sure where or when this game would be played. Finally, the NFL was
able to agree upon a neutral site. Detroit, Michigan the hometown of
the late Ralph Wilson. If this is a sign leading up to the game then
things don’t bode well for Gang Green.
Coming into this game we have seen a roller coaster of a season with
more lows than highs. The only positive coming out of this is that we
all can’t wait for May/Draft day to get here. The jets opened this
game as a three point underdog but with this being a neutral site
game, only one can imagine what the crowd will be like.
In order for the Jets to make any noise in this game, we are going to
need to see a resemblance of a secondary show up. In the last meeting
with Buffalo, Sammy Watkins torched the secondary and showboated his
way out of a TD. I can guarantee you, that mistake will not be made
today during this showdown.
The Bills coming off a Thursday night loss last week to the Dolphins
will see this as a game to gain ground especially with the Dolphins
seemingly choking and then almost coming back to win a shootout with
the Broncos yesterday.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
In order for the Jets to be in this game we are going to have to see
the secondary step up and make plays. Limiting Sammy Watkins is vital
as Buffalo is just getting Fred Jackson back and the Jets are able to
handle the run.
If the Defensive line is able to pressure Orton this game could be
interesting. As for the Jets offense with the bye in hand I would
look to see how they are able to incorporate Percy Harvin even more
so. Also, Jace Amaro could factor in if he is able to catch the rock
but we have yet to see him do so consistently.
Since, this whole game has been dysfunctional from the get go I
wouldn’t expecting anything less when we see the first kick off. I
expect some rust from both teams as it has been over a week since each
played.
Prediction:
Buffalo 31 Jets 17
