6 ? That's for the ride out of the lot

Back when we had season tix to the Mets at Shea and the same people went to every game someone always brought in extra food or treats. We would come from the city via Northern Blvd and every so often we'd pull into White Castle and order 100 double cheeses. They never lasted to the first pitch. We'd start to lose 'em on the escalator, maybe half before we even sat down and always saved a bunch for our ushers so out of this, we'd only get a couple each.

Now Mrs. Fud won't even look at these after seeing the army of giant rats running around the Yonkers store one night.

Anyone remember the copy cat franchise, White Tower? There was one at 242nd & Broadway. Made White Castle seem like Peter Luger's in comparison.

We would bring ribs/chicken from li or Italian grinders from Westchester or I would cook burgers & dogs on an hibachi or later a small gas grill. Great times for all. In the 60s at giants stadium it was Italian grinders from the Bronx plenty of peanuts & stadium hotdogs. Plus chuckles m&,m s & assorted candy that never made it in the stadium in the 70s by dad got us the winged foot express bus to the giants games & then dinner at the club after the game.not bad
