The Jets hosted cornerback Bene Benwikere for a visit this week, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

The 25 year old defensive back could be a candidate for a reserve/futures contract.
A former fifth round selection by Carolina three years ago, Benwikere appeared in four games this season, recording 10 tackles and an interception, before being cut in October.
Claimed off waivers by Miami shortly after, he didn’t appear in a game and he was later signed to their practice squad. Benwikere later joined Green Bay’s practice squad.
The Jets are interested in adding as many cornerback candidates as they can during the offseason as they look to replenish a position of noted weakness.
