A lot has been said about Mike White and his ability to get the ball down the field. I have even read where he has been compared to one of my favorite Jet QB not named Namath in the person of “10” himself Chadwick Pennington.
Well folks if I remember correctly and I seldom do, the only times old “10” didn’t get us to the playoffs was when he was on injured reserve to start the season which was usually every other season. That old boy even had us a couple missed FGs away from the AFC championship game against the Cheaters on a bum wing that needed off season surgery .
Those years were the only years where I wasn’t worried when the ball left the QBs hand . Those years and the 2 years with Sanches with Schotty and Rex were fun .
I miss having fun on game day with the Jets and for 1weekend and a few series on another weekend I was having fun again . Far too much is made about arm talent and the role it plays on a winning team . Over my years of watching and analyzing football I have come to realize that if a QB is protected his mind is far more important to winning than his arm .
I offer 3 examples as evidence simply because I don’t feel like typing anymore. Old “10” and his short career, Patrick Mahommes and his game against the Bucs in the SB and finally young Mr “3” passing attempts in a game whose team is right back at the top of the AFC east .
