We have all suspected on who should become a cap casuality this off season which has arrived... Teams around the league have began trimming the fat so to speak... Regardless which one on our roster is the first to go, there are blatant needs on our roster... So far we have signed a few to future contracts and a couple free agent signings, but nothing to write home about...
So if or when we clean up the cap space which position is in dire need of a veteran or two free agent signing and who should we target... For me we need at least one corner veteran albeit we could use more than one um but believe this position will be a target in the draft as well as free agency... Two names to watch out for are Trumaine Johnson (L.A. Rams) we did just hire one of their coaches who coached Trumaine last season who became quietly one of the top corners in the league and the other is A.J. Bouye from the Houston Texans a product connected to the Texan's then director of scouting now general manager for us Mike Maccagnan... If we clear the cap maybe we can afford to sign both of them, but it is highly unlikely we get both or either...
Of course we have issues throughout the roster, it's not because we don't lack of the talent it is because the players are not up to speed or the lack of continuity throughout the positions were lacking... This could be due to lack of leadership, or desire but whatever it is, we are on the right track on overhauling this roster more this off season... Veterans signings that were signed when this regime took over are with one foot out the door if they have not performed to expectations... Reason I am saying that players signed two off seasons ago only had two years worth of guarantees that are up this off season and could be moved on from the team without any or minimal dead loss...
So what say you, which position (single position) needs the most attention this off season via free agency and/or the draft?
