Robinson is just 22 years old, so the Jets’ front office must think he has room to grow. Jets coach Todd Bowles, however, did not appear to be in on the decision to make the trade: Reporters at the Jets’ facility say Bowles only learned about it from the media.

this was a good move, Jets had two 5th round picks... getting a young talent who has upside drafted in the 4th round in 2016 and is still only 22 years of age... he needs to cut out the penalties but think our db coach will correct those miscues...

JMHO We should be waiting for the off season to improve the team.. Right now we need to be sellers not buyers. Who knows how many or what pick may be crucial to move up for a franchise QB

Does seem odd that a team that will be all-but-mathematically out of playoff contention after Thursday are giving up draft picks for players from the bench of the few teams that are worse than them. If we were picking up O-linemen so we could play Petty or Hack without concern for their health, I would be more with the program.

Exactly. Why are we giving away draft picks for a guy who leads the league in penalties (among them 4 pass interference and 2 illegal hands). They sat him for a rookie. I don't understand what the Jets are doing. I just get the feeling both Mac and Bowles are just still playing for their jobs instead of the long term success.

I know we have injuries at CB and it's an area of need but this kid is trouble.
Failed multiple drug test , couldn't stay academically eligible and was finally kicked out of LSU for unlawful entry. Stole a bunch of items from a teammate's room and sold them on campus.
He has an abdominal injury and was questionable to play this week for the 49's.
Last year he had a concussion, an ankle injury and finished the season with a knee injury.
He's a local kid, I have seen play since HS here and his legs are very skinny.
I could see taking a flyer on him as a free agent for cheap but not giving up a draft pick for him.
Maybe Mac was trying to get in good graces with the 49's for a draft day trade up.....:global (21):

Not a smart move in my point of view. We already have enough penalty committers and that doesn't even account for the rest of his baggage.

I'm pretty sure we'll know what we have in Robinson TONIGHT. The Bills traded for Kelvin Benjamin? A 6'5" WR? The CS will need to assign a tall CB for this and there really isn't any CB on this is either a) tall enough or b) Up to the task, except the new blood?

If this guy is another penalty machine, I would really have to question Mac's sanity?
