“He’s working his butt off, if we can get him back to where he was at training camp when he came into the league our offensive line is going to be really good”

Everything I hear about Becton makes me think a versatile OL is in play for the Jets at 4 or 10. The Tweet from Jeremiah saying you don't need to have 3-4 first rounders on your OL does feel like a nod to us though. If I had to rank my OL of choice so far:

1) Ikem Ekwonu
2) Kenyon Green
3) Evan Neal
4) Zion Johnson (2nd Round)

Chattanooga Cole Strange right now round 5 but his Senior Bowl performance has vaulted him into mid 3rd round consideration especially since he halted three top interior linemen like a rag doll...

1) Perrion Winfrey
2) Haskell Garrett
3) Travis Jones

he man handled all three... while playing center ( he is a career guard )...

I don’t really get all this negativity for Becton. He came into camp in great shape last year and then hurt his knee. Injuries happen. The biggest knock I see on him is how much weight he gained last year,… while rehabbing a knee injury. His mobility and ability to exercise was not there. Big guys like him gain weight super easy. When he was able to, like last off season, he kept himself in decent shape.
If he comes to camp overweight and out of shape I may change my tune, but I have the feeling that he will come back in good shape and redeem his name with all the fickle jet fans.

Oooo interesting, I'll deff take a look at him! I think positional flexibility is going to be huge for this staff. Would love to get a G/C hybrid so we aren't totally left high and draw after this final season with McGovern.

I followed the Senior Bowl pretty closely but admittedly was not dialed in to him. Jets have a huge advantage having coached these players, need to hit a home run this draft. 49ers selected 4 players from the Senior Bowl when they coached it in 2019, I expect something similar.

Keep in mind Robert Saleh also stated that his Senior Bowl experience was not to just decide which players to draft but also for which players to completely eliminate.

And 7/9 players drafted from this Senior Bowl means that we'll be ignoring a lot of talented Juniors out there and some of the very best Seniors who turned down the Senior Bowl (and I'm not sure if that's a smart idea)?

A lot of our favorite 2022 NFL Draft Prospect are Juniors and a lot our favorites and/or the best NCAA Senior Prospects wanted absolutely nothing to do with the Senior Bowl.

I remember listening to an Ulbrich interview where he stated that the Senior Bowl these days is not like it how it once was and used to be where all the top players throughout the 1970s, 1980s and throughout the 1990s lived for the Senior Bowl Game and how much it's changed since even since his playing days; he basically mentioned how most of the top talents don't even participate within it anymore).

If we draft that many players from this Senior Bowl I think I'll become pretty disappointed as a fan man because I know the cream of the crop did not participate in this Senior Bowl experience (but guys like Trey McBride and Jahan Dotson are different I'd love them).

My random guess would be 3 potentially 4 (max) because there are just too many awesome Junior/Senior talents who did not participate in Senior Bowl week (but then again I could be wrong).
It wouldn't shock me to see that many selected. I think the #4 and #10 picks could be juniors or traded down to select more players that could be seniors.

Like it wouldn't shock me if we took Thibs/Ekwonu/Sauce/WR with 4/10 or traded down and ended up with Jermaine Johnson, Zion Johnson, Trey McBride, and Jalen Pitre with a chunk of our picks.

For me the Senior Bowl is important for all the reasons you stated + the ability to attract UDFA to us since guys have already worked with our staff.

end of the day the Jets implemented a base game plan and the players excelled...

These Top 3 Should be Jets Draft Selection Targets:

SAF Jalen Pitre (Showed range and Football IQ)
TE Jeremy Ruckert (Proved he is more than a blocker)
IOL Cole Strange (Took out Top 3 IDL on the National Team Roster like it was cake work)

all superseded expectations

WR Bo Melton (explosive, quickness and fracking), Romeo Doubs (Speed, Quickness and Catch Ability)
S/LB Sterling Weatherford (a safety that during the Senior Bowl was converted to LB)
DB Damarri Mathis & CB Tariq Castro Fields are at the same level either one would be an asset in depth
RB Abram Smith & Jerome Ford both have that talent that fits and with a full week of practice with our coaches they proved they can be
LB Chad Muma & Troy Anderson showed up and shelled out displaying key attributes that would excel in Saleh & Ulbrich's defense
IDL Perrion Winfrey (Senior Bowl MVP), Haskell Garrett showed his athleticism and Travis Jones only against Cole Strange showed his potential,

WR Jahan Dotson made a football decision, but was drafted by the National Jets Coaching Staff Number 1 overall, kind of says something, NO?

So yes I feel that from what I am hearing that 7 prospects from the Senior Bowl could be Jets draft selections
