This, if not just a message to myself, it’s a message to all Jets fans, STOP BEING INVESTED! Year after year this team just lets us down, no matter what they do! It just never fails! No matter how this Seahawks game ends and it seems pretty obvious they’re going to lose, the Jets don’t deserve to make the playoffs. Not playing like this!

Most, including me figured that this Jets team this year would be a 7-8 win team at most. 9 at best with still no playoffs but they would overall show promise from last year. Myself and most figured they would struggle early on and come on strong by the end of the year. Well it all turn around by them starting out so hot and falling apart at the end of the year.

So ofcourse for most of us, including me the expectations have changed. I honestly thought this team could be a legit playoff team. Not Super Bowl team but a playoff team. Win at least one game in the playoffs the way they started off and now THIS! The Jets will always find away to break your heart, especially if you’re invested. So if your not, it won’t hurt as much!

I actually didn’t care much at all about this team throughout the entire Idzik and Gase BS. I knew that was going to fail from his hiring press conference. Before that, I stopped being invested during the last few years of the Rex Ryan era. Got a little excited during the Bowles era but that fizzled out quickly also.

Now I did truly get back into it for the Joe D and Saleh era and I don’t want to give up on them and I won’t just yet. However, I do realize that I need to take a step back! They have built a pretty good team this year but they still have a lot of work to do. QB position and oline being the biggest problem. Need more depth also!

So I have to get this all back into perspective now. Next week’s game doesn’t matter regardless now and I probably won’t even watch it. MW doesn’t appear to be our guy and Zach definitely isn’t either. So do they get Carr, Jimmy G or what? At this point, who knows and I’m not concerned anymore about it.

I'm jealous. For me, the negative emotion from heartbreaking disappointments by this franchise eventually takes over and dominates (as much as I try to chuckle at the ineptitude myself) for most of the season.

We are, I won’t argue that but this hurts. This hurts bad! They built us up, just to break us down! I thought it was supposed to be the other way around. SMDH!

After todays game, I feel exactly the same way.
This team, no matter who is playing, who is coaching, different years, different decades, just goes out and doesn’t just break your heart, but it has to be an embarrassment how they do it.
7-4 to 7-9, with each week being a game they should be able to win, but no, against the Vikings Berrios can’t hold onto a TD.
Buffalo, White gets folded in half.
Lions 4th and 1, they give up a 51 yard TD to their 3rd string TE. Our third string TE can’t get off the bench.
Jacksonville, Joke.
Seattle, even bigger joke.
This is what a Jet fan is, when Seattle ripped off the 60 something yard run on their first possession, I said to myself, we’re done, and we were.
I haven’t missed a Jet game since I can remember.
I think from now on I’ll spend my time not watching them, I’ll DVR them. If they win, I’ll watch, if they lose, I’ll delete.
I’m getting too old for this shit.

I think I’m going to take this page from your book. During the Gase era, I hardly watched them and it was such a relief not being stressed all the damn time. Now I’m back on board and they’re breaking my heart, yet again. Just like they did during the Parcells era, the Mangini era, H. Edwards era, R. Ryan era and Bowles era. I’m sure there are a few more HCs I’m missing but you get my point. I’m still a die hard Jets fan but not expecting much and maybe even not watching the games, unless they win and that might be the trick! Thanks for that!

I've not been invested monetarily since 2010 when I said I would never go to another game especially at MetLife. I stopped watching them on DirecTV. My investment is really on this forum. I've only watched nationally televised games over the years. I listened to most of the games this year. It really saves my anger and eyeballs by not having to subject myself to the team.

They’re building this team the right way and still can’t get it right. At least not this year! That’s what makes this so bad because it appeared like they had arrived in that first 9 games. Now here we are a 7-9 team. When that would have been ALOT more acceptable if they would have started out at 2-7 or 3-6.

And the Jets just reply 'It's my nature'.

And some got high on the Kool-Aid, tipping wins in Minnesota and Buffalo and taking the Lions and Jags games as formalities.

Well I used to be that way but since they allow the Legal Weed now I just puff on that while watching the game and all is well.

I assume you mean the fans are gullible, rather than this nonsense about 'impatience'. Every season it takes only a little encouragement for the JETS chant to break out, and every year the rug is pulled out. It's a bit like that old Charlie Brown and the football cartoon. Did you see the looks of frozen embarrassment on the faces of those stalwarts who had turned up in Seattle? 'How soon can I pretend I need the bathroom and take the turn to the car park instead?'
