Testifying under oath, Watson admits Solis cried at end of massage

Barring one or more settlements, Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson eventually will stand trial in 22 different cases with 22 different juries regarding claims made by 22 different massage therapists.

Last week, Watson testified in one of the pre-trial depositions that a massage ended with the therapist crying, according to Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today. Watson also admitted that he sent her an apology via text message.

The testimony came in the case brought by Ashley Solis. She was the first therapist to go public with her claims.

Watson claimed he didn’t know why she had cried. Solis claims that Watson intentionally touched her with his penis during the massage, prompting the reaction.

“Sorry about you feeling uncomfortable,” Watson texted. “Never were the intentions. Lmk if you want to work in the future. My apologies.”
Asked why he sent an apology, Watson testified: “Yes, because she was teary-eyed. And I was trying to figure out what was going on. So, I assumed that she was uncomfortable in whatever reason. And we talked about working in the future. And so, I said, `We can work in the future. Just let me know.’ And then I sent my apologies as whatever reason she was teary-eyed for.”
With no court order in place preventing the deposition transcripts from being disseminated to reporters, the lawyers can share any, some, or all of the information. This specific testimony was provided by attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the 22 plaintiffs.

The report lands one day after multiple reports indicated that the NFL will meet with Watson this week. As explained earlier today, the league has much to do in order to get any disciplinary process fully resolved by the start of the 2022 regular season.

Just suspend the guy for the year already and get it over with. Doesn’t matter if he’s guilty of any of the complaints, he’s guilty of compromising the integrity of the NFL Shield

I didnt know there was any INTEGRITY left when it came to the NFL Shield. As for Watson, its a travesty this guy is still in the League. Unreal.

I will take a cakewalk. We haven't had one of those in awhile. Actually I would rather play Watson. I'm tired of losing to the midget.

I don’t know exactly what happened, but 22 different women saying he was a pervert certainly suggests that Deshaun Watson thinks he can do whatever he wants because of his celebrity status. I don’t know if he raped anyone, or if these encounters were consensual. I just know that he was acting like a creep at massage parlors. And he should be disciplined by the league with a suspension. Dude….you can get a woman the normal way that most men do, especially being a star athlete. Is this guy living in a porno movie?

And I’d be lying if I didn’t say that suspension should go past week 2 against the Jets. We’re gonna crush the Browns without Watson.

at this point it is just disgusting. the attorney is close friends with his former employer the Houston Texans. the NFL needed to make a stance on this but allowing him to stayed employed shows a lack empathy for the victims.

No if he’s not getting suspended for 6 games or more then I want to play against him. No excuses, no cakewalks. I wanna know what we have for real .
To be the champ you have to beat the champ .
Normally I'd agree with you but(I know you know this) Watson is not a Champ and in all likelihood will have a hard time getting on the field again.

i am probably going to take some heat for this, but i see a lot of this as piling on.

the reason for the stance is that we aren't talking about a criminal court's jury of his peers acquitted him, but leaving the door open for civil suits. we are talking about a grand jury hearing 22 separate allegations that could not find evidence to bring the case to a jury of his peers.

i could see Watson being in extremely hot water if the grand jury recommended the criminal case to move to trial "but" the jury acquitted him or were deadlocked not being able to convict. if that were the case, then it moves to a preponderance of evidence threshold where he would most likely been found culpable.

imo, at this point, civil suits seems like a salmon swimming up stream.

Don’t care about any of that stuff. That’s about money and he’s got plenty. He put his good name and his reputation on the line with his actions and he has to deal with the consequences like we all do . I don’t believe in respect of person because of who you maybe . A code of conduct has been established long before I ever existed and we ought to have learned by now that that code makes us a better world . Sadly, we still haven’t.

i appreciate your take on not caring "any of that stuff", but that stuff goes far beyond a player. it has to do with our system of justice which demands that you are innocent until proven guilty. our criminal justice system said there wasn't enough evidence not just to find him guilty, but not enough to bring him to trial.

to say that Watson has to deal with the consequences of his actions is presuming his guilt. I am not willing to do that.

I don't care what happens to Watson. If he is a piece of shit then he will still be a piece of shit his whole life and he will still do piece of shit things.

agreed, but until it is proven, do what you did, and qualify statements about him with "if".

I tell my kids all the time the same thing. Someone gave me my last name and I didn’t disparage it . I gave that same last name to you so don’t you disparage it or you have to deal with me first .
Innocent or guilty, this situation will always be attributed to him disparagingly. He has to live with that, and so does any kids he will ever have .

...and that my closest friends and associates is the reason our justice system requires a presumption of innocence, and the best reason society shouldn't be presumptive at all.
