If we win out , end up 11-5 and not make the playoffs. This is very possible.

That's it. All the Jets have control of is winning another game.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the Steelers own the tie breaker over us.... anyone know.
I think it's head to head records. They've beaten teams we've lost to. I thought that's what I read the other day.
Because they have a better record vs common opponents which basically means that Raider loss hurt us.
Strength of schedule.

We have 4 common opponents with the Steelers - the Pats, Raiders, Browns and Colts. Assuming both teams win out the Jets record against them would be 3-2 and the Steelers would be 4-1. As mentioned above the sleepwalk against the Raiders has killed us.
One other option though is if Denver loses one more game and KC wins out (likely) then KC would win the division and Denver would lose out to the Jets for the wild card who would have a better conference record.
They beat Oak we lost....
