Talib has a lot of mileage on him. Some character concerns too. This is exactly what we need to stay away from starting next week. I hope we don’t sign anyone over 30. Cousins is the oldest player we should be targeting at 29,30.
the only reason this is a good signing for the Rams is that forces them to let Trumaine Johnson walk... For us he is the type of corner we should invest a short term (no more than 3 years) contract to help the secondary evolve into something special... We know what we have in both sophomore players in Adams and Maye but the corner position is a mess...
If we are lucky to get Trumaine, then maybe this secondary and defense can take the next step in their development... Not to mention when T.J.'s career took the next step into something good was when he had our current DB coach Dennard Wilson as his coach in St. Louis prior to them turning into the L.A. Rams...
Trumaine Johnson on a 3 year deal, then bring back Claiborne. CB position done, secondary good to go.
