As much as we're in a funk right now, i figured let's lighten the mood and get our wheels going again with great players from the past.

Wayne Chrebet is my all-time favorite Jet because of all the odds he faced and how he over came them by becoming such an excellent football gritty player with hard work and determination.

My favorite Chrebet moment was when we beat Green bay in the season finale in 2002 when we won the division. It was a simple out route, Penny hit him perfectly, turned it up field and split two defender and hoisted the ball right in the air as we were headed to the playoffs. (minute 3:06 of the video)

Agree with you 100% Dan. Fan since 78 and he is my favorite of all time. If the hall of fame was based on heart Chrebet would have been a first ballot without a doubt.
This last off season I went on a quest to get a number 80 jersey. You can't buy them and the NFL marketing giant will no longer make them. I ended up finding one on E-Bay. Brand new with the tags still on it. Been wearing it every day so far this season.

LOLz i was watching that game with my youngest brother & saying it looked a "madden" (the video game) catch, press the "turbo button" & score..

Awesome video. Hands and heart, man, that's what Chrebet had in abundance. I think that GB moment is probably also my favorite, but there are so many to choose from.

Truly old school could play in any era...........very few times did he wear gloves I always thought he would make a excellent wr coach, enuwa and devin should be on the phone training with him.

I think the only time I ever remember him messing up is against the Bears. He hurdled someone but was hit and had to drop the ball. I was so upset then.

2002 was a good year for Jets football. I really thought we had the momentum to win it all until.....

No doubt Chrebet was a huge surprise & never thought to be good. Big Underdog & small size that played with a BIG Heart! I remember him catching a big play pass & almost getting his head about knocked off & held on to the ball to get the big play, in 1st down or TD. Jets have had a few great WRS, Maynard, Toon also.
