Week 9 Game Thread: New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins

I see two problems. One, we are not a very good run blocking O-line. Far too often the RB's are getting stopped right at the LOS. Forte and Powell have busted a few runs, but for the most part, our run blocking sucks.

Secondly, it's killing us that we have no confidence running the ball on 3rd and 1. We're in spread formation and throwing the ball on 3rd and 1. Spread formation!! That's a problem.

this offensive line zone system, the linemen are suppose to block areas, not defenders unfortunately they seem to be blocking no one...

it may be time to change things up a bit and that means players like James Carpenter will become useless utilizing power and road-grading scheme...

what we ran with Rex n company was a gap-running scheme that asks the linemen to locate defenders off the snap and move them back...

this scheme would benefit Brian Winters more so then James Carpenter but with the style of rusher that Matt Forte is, he would benefit more so from this type of blocking scheme... Bilal will continue his success as he is familiar with this scheme as well...

No question. I'm not absolving Fitz for today. He threw a couple of picks, and he almost gave away two more being hit in the pocket. I was revived watching the game when Petty came in. I really wanted to see what Petty could do. But that was very short lived.

We're very average with Fitz. I want the youth movement to start now. This season is over. Let's see which young guys can be players in the future.

Petty came in with a simple play. You're close enough that afg is a chip shot, look at progression 1 and 2,then throw it away. Either atd is open or you throw it away and take the 3. He instead spun to the left and flung it to the sideline for 5 yards and a4th down.

these penalties today were horrendous...

Todd Bowles needs to stop relying on Chan Gailey to help run this team and take the reigns because this failure will only be reflected on him not his coaches... Gailey has infused his will onto this roster just in the last signing of CJ Spiller... Enough already...

Between the ego of Ryan Fitzpatrick and the emotional arrogant Brandon Marshall this team will continue to lose... What happened to Q, basically an irrelevant part of today's game plan, our leading receiver on the team an after thought, why?

As we seen all season long the Jets have two dominate running backs that get used sparingly at best but when they are involved oh look that we are successful...

The young ones looked good today, especially Robbie Anderson making Fitz look like a competent QB on down the field throw... Same goes for Jalin on the touchdown toss...

heading into the off season we need to blow up this offensive line...

the defensive is lost, no communication and overly aggressive... until they get rid of Richardson and return back to a 3-4 base defense this team will continue to look out of place and give up big plays either in the air or on the ground...

not blaming the coaching staff because the players on the field are literally moving out of position or over running their assignments, at the end of the day every one right now is to blame...

It's a shit show out there,and guys know they aren't coming back,so what the hell do they care about the team?

I'd like to see Bowles take over offense this year,but I don't want Gailey to get pissed off and leave if I can help it. I'd love him to keep teaching the young QB's. I'd imagine he's a really kermudgen.

Your knowledge of offensive line schemes surpasses mine. I'm not as familiar with that stuff. I just know that something is not working in the ground game. With the exception of a few plays, Forte was (again) repeatedly bottled up at the LOS. This offense is not built to out pass the other team. We MUST have success running the ball.

At least Gailey has made an effort to run the ball in recent weeks. The first five games of the year, it seemed like they actually thought Fitz had morphed into Dan Fouts.

The bottom line here is this offense is not running cause Fitz is awful..... Gailey may be to cute at times but overall his playcalling would have thisoffense humming with any kind of average QB play... Week in and week out not only is Fitz making awful throws, he is making awful reads.... He is missing open receivers left and right and making the wrong read....... As their are guys running completely free somewhere on the field almost every damn play....

And anyone that doesn't think the play of the offense doesn't have an affect on the Defense just needs to look at the Cowboys... They are playing average D but it looks so much better because the offense is efficient taking time off the clock... keeping them fresh, keeping them mentally in the game and never crushing their efforts and their will with the offense never helping them out and always hurting them...

And it means the defense had to show less looks overall. Over exposure gives the offense a chance to learn your tricks.

And lets not forget he misses throws like this to Anderson Weekly... I mean seriously he runs a skinny post, wide open and Fitz throws it to the outside... Anderson would be in consideration for ROY if he had a QB that can throw a deep ball accurately

Those things are tricky,their are micro adjustments in every play. If the defender plays you tight, you and the qb know how you're running the route. If the defender is faking or does something unexpected,the wr or qb could miss it and on a timing route the qb is throwing to a spot. That happens with rookies, not defending, it can also just be a straight up mistake, but this often h happens with rookies.

If the defender is faking or does something unexpected,the wr or qb could miss it and on a timing route the qb is throwing to a spot. That happens with rookies, not defending, it can also just be a straight up mistake, but this often h happens with rookies.

He has missed Anders at the bare minimum 5 times this year on throws.... a decent Qb will hi on at least 2 of them... I see what you're saying and I do agree with you but the evidence has shown Fitz can't make this throw... His arm isn't strong enough.... So he puts everything he has into the the throw and he loses his accuracy.... It's easy to blame the rookie but right off the ling you can see he is running a skinny post and the ball needs to be to the inside not the outside...

Also he has under thrown Anderson at least once a game as well because he is trying to time it and be accurate and he doesn't have the arm.... When you miss a big throw here and there, her it happens. When you miss 2-3 a game to an explosive guy like Anderson it's on the QB
