no when he came here this team had talent and plenty of bloated contracts, maybe should of went into rebuild mode after the first year but remember we went 10-6, so trying to continue that success they restocked for the second year after that was a total failure they scrapped trying to win and now and start what was needed for a long time a total rebuild from ground up and being this the first year of that rebuild they have done a better than expected job...
Mac has done everything correctly to this point, and in his short tenure has done more positive things than Tannebaum did in his entire stay here...
Disagree about Tannenbaum. He may have been the best GM this team has had besides Parcells. We were close to getting to the super bowl two years in a row. He traded up to get a franchise qb, he didnt pan out but at least he had the balls to do it. He was good at trading and getting good players at a bargain (Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards). Also, he drafted some of the better players this team has had in the past decade (Future ring of honor members, D'Brick, Mangold, Revis, David Harris).
What his problem is that he tried really hard to getting us to that super bowl that he mortgaged the future.
Mac should not be mentioned in the same breath as Mac hasnt done shit. His team hasnt made the playoffs and for two years in a row they will be in the bottom half of the league. Yes, he's acquired some good players over the years but this team has no direction. I don't know what his plan is. There is a lack of talent on this team. His picks have not really panned out. He hasnt committed to building an offensive line, hasnt committed to finding a QB, hasnt committed to finding a pass rusher. He's invested in the defense since he got here and our defense is not very good.
I'd be okay if we fire Mac tomorrow. He would not be a big loss. I do think he's better than Idzik but that is not saying much.
