im assuming you are responding to my post since you quoted a portion of it.
You need to read the entire thread, perhaps have a clue what the context of the post was referencing.
Washington has less than 1/2 the cap space that the Jets have.
There is no flexibility with the cap hit when you franchise a player. I'll repeat what I posted.
It makes no sense for them to tag him !

I just read something interesting. For what it's worth on an appearance on Denver's 104.3 The Fan, EX GM, Scot McCloughan, says Cousins is not special.
That explains why he franchise tagged him twice and was all in to tag him a third time. Lol
He also said
Cousins is "talented" and he "works his tail off",
"You just need to have some talent around him,"
That goes for just about every QB in the league.
Too bad tebow did not make it in the "about every"
True but he could out circumcise any QB in the league...
He did say that they put guys around him that made him good. So basically what he's saying is that if we get him and want him to shine we must fix the "O" line. No biggie we already knew the "O" line needed fixing and with him under center we'd have the picks to do it. We wouldn't have to use our first pick on a QB.
They should have put some receivers around him too. Hopefully we will if he is signed here..
