Its finally here fellas, The 2017 regular season.

We can debate weather the Jets will be tanking all campaign, but i know this one thing:
As soon as kick off commences, we all....ALL clear our minds and root as hard as possible for our club, no matter how horrible the media makes them out to be.

We face a very similar team in Buffalo in their home turf (Canada). Their play book is in French so the hell with trying to figure out their calls. They're QB may be the rookie Peterman (not the guy from Seinfeld). Though the only thing they have over us is an unknown Head coach. Our head coach is a very well known knuckle head who hates going for it on 4rth down and becomes over dosed on Adavan when it comes to the in-game decision of benching a QB when throwing for more than 4 picks, while still very early in the 3rd quarter behind by 10 points.

With that being said, i say we Kick those fake ass north New Yorkers right in their hay-stack balls come next Sunday: 7-3.

Go JETS BABY!!

I don't think they should tank. Build a young team that grows over time. Darnold and Allen were garbage yesterday so there is no guarantee either will be better than Hack or Petty. START PETTY WEEK 2 AND STILL DEVELOP HACK!! Develop as many QB's as possible because they always can fetch a draft pick or player if they are not the #1. Will be watching Rosen tonight. Don't sleep on Lamar Jackson.

This is one of 4 games where the Jets actually have a shot at winning the way I see it? When I peruse the schedule I see both Buffalo games, Jax, and Browns as their only, decent shots at pulling out a victory?

But in all of these games, the Jets will need to do some things they almost never do:

1) The defense must score. The offense is likely to be quite anemic. I figure 17 points for them would be a track meet. So to pull an opening day victory, the defense must put points on the board? But this is something the Jets NEVER do. It's the one area on an otherwise good unit that totally leaves you scratching your head.

2) The Jets must out rush the Bills. This might very well be an even harder task than the defense scoring? This OL is the worst OL I think I have ever seen? Worse than 2007 when the Jets had Adrien Clarke as a 16 game starter? I wanted to puke every time I saw that fat fuck step out on the field after the Jets got cheap and refused to pay Pete Kendall an extra million, chump change in football monetary terms.

These are both areas that must go in their favor if they intend to win. It will be interesting to see how many times they can actually accomplish that?

I'd like to see this team START a game with some intensity and fire. Way too many times the last two seasons the Jets come out and play flat. This, to me, all falls on Bowles. If he is unable to motivate a very young roster from the get go, then he is not the right person to be leading this team/rebuild. I also hope Johnny Morton saved all of his real X's and O's for the regular season because that 3 and out offense we were watching in the preseason wont look good on his re'sume.

I was listening to Kim Jones yesterday on Boomer & Carton and she said that she has spoken to very credible people around the league who think that there are few players that have the raw physical talent that Hackenberg has. I don't know if he'll ever develop, but he is worth the investment because of his physical abilities. He has made progress with the coaching staff and so has Petty. Those are positive signs.

I am not convinced about any of these QBs coming out until they prove it on the field. Baldinger said the same thing. Darnold started what 9 games? That is not a large enough sample size. He looks good, but he could just easily regress. Same thing for Rosen. He's been inconsistent. Allen has great physical skills too, but not a lot of starts.

Players get hyped up all the time, remember when Matt Barkley was going to be a top 10 pick. All of these players could tank this year, or come back to earth. I am sure they have all have raw physical skills, but none of them are sure things at this point. The only sure QB I can remember in the last several drafts was Luck. I though Wentz was a legitimate starter, and really like Watson. Mahomes may turn out to be the best of the bunch. Gruden loved him.

So I agree that the Jets should continue to develop the players they have on the roster, until they find their franchise QB whereever that comes from, draft, player development or Free Agency. I agree with TebowCan'tThrow 100%.

They're both tanking so they don't have to play for the Jets.

Rosen started really slow and has put up some numbers when all he could do is throw vs prevent defense. He is probably the best overall QB of the current top 3. He has looked amazing in the second half.

Tank every game for rosen!!!!

Josh Allen didn't play well at all. But I didn't think Darnold was that bad? He wasn't the reason USC won, but he also wasn't the reason they lost.

And yes, the ****ing democrat stole the show tonight. Second most amazing comeback in college football history led by Rosen.

it'll be interesting to see if Rosen continues to make noise politically speaking, when he's certain to get drafted by a team with a conservative owner?

Simple folks just sit back & watch. For me it is to see if this team can grow as they play hard. It is that simple

Ok, MaineJet, I've had enough. Cut the political bullshit - I am sick of it. First bashing Obama, then talking about fake news and Trump. Now this... Rosen's political affiliation has nothing to do with football. Mods, can we please intervene here. We all have political views, and this is not the place to voice them. If you want to discuss politics, go find a site to do that.

And let me add this - by referring to Rosen as a f'ing democrat, this implies you feel that way about all Democrats. And there may be a number of Democrats on this board. So by implication you consider all Democrats, f'ing Democrats. If those are your views, go express them elsewhere, we don't need to hear them.

Well, look... first of all, I did not address you specifically. The snide comment was probably a LITTLE over the top but certainly not the mountain you're making it out to be? So I'll apologize, but only a little.

And specifically when it comes to Josh Rosen and his political beliefs, it is VERY much an important topic given the fact that the Jets will likely be selecting 1st overall and the Jets owner works for the president himself. Whether you like or not this IS pertinent moving forward as this team develops. In this world we live in, being such a politically charged environment, things as small as small as one's political leanings could have a HUGE effect on what transpires in April. Don't shoot the messenger.

And bottom line if my posts bother you so much, don't read them or place me on ignore? That's normal on any message board.

I shouldn't have to put you on ignore if you would simply use some decorum and obey the rules of the Board. Rosen's political beliefs are irrelevant - he's still in college. He hasn't declared for the draft. When he declares for the draft, then it's relevant, And he's not a fucking Democrat. His name is Josh Rosen.

Well for me being a ****ing democrat, I'd love the kid and I would still love him to be the Jets QB if he was a conservative.... But I am not the owner so I guess we will see what happens come draft time.... Personally I don't think anyones political belief should be a factor one way or the other in deciding who you draft.

But I think you bring up a good point, it'll be interesting to see what the Johnsons do since they are clearly conservatives and huge Trump supporters. If they factor that in and he is clearly the #1 QB and we don't draft him that would definitely tell us all we need to know about the Owner.... He doesn't care about win and losses

Yup lounap23 - it's about winning and losing, not about poltics. If Woody is not smart enough to see that, then he should just sell the team. Frankly, I would imagine that the majority of the team is Democrats. So I highly doubt he cares about any of this.

Any one know who the back QB is?
just watched bowles' 9/4 presser..

who's the backup is, still on a need to know basis..

bowles, in his infinite wisdom still doesn't think we need to know yet.....

BTW, bowles seemed blindsided to me with the richardson trade & went on to say the two are very close..

in an ass backward way, them being buddies makes complete sense to me.....
