I don't know how you tell 53 guys to tank because help is on the way especially help from a crop of very flawed QB's. They have seemingly changed the culture and that is more important than one man even if it is the most important player on the field.

It's not about the players or team as a whole in tanking. Although maybe this is what management was thinking??? Obviously the team is going to give it all they can to win, I get that and expect it. I guess my just fantasy world view of thinking with this damn team. I look at it as the bigger picture but I don't expect the players or coaches to think that way. Good hard fought game I must admit.

You have to be incredibly lucky or incredibly bad to get that top pick. As a Jets fan, you know the Jets are never lucky and this team is not incredibly bad. I'm very disappointed we lost today, but outside of a few mistakes the Jets outplayed the Pats. Losing every week is very demoralizing for an organization. If we are 6-10 or 7-9 with a young hungry team then there is something to look forward to. If we are 0-16 then that tells you we have little to zero talent and a franchise QB wouldn't fix that. I still wish we had taken Watson instead of Adams.

Agreed on all points. Adams was a great-great pick just like Williams was a few years back but there were QBs there they should have drafted. Watson this year of course and the Williams draft was Winston and Mariotta, if I'm correct. So here we are a team that's always fighting but just can't get there. Then like you said we're never really horrible enough to actually draft that Andrew Luck or Cam Newton. Except for the Kotite years when they drafted Keyshawn Johnson. All we can hope for is we luck up and draft a Watson at 10 or Carr in the second round. Without having to trade up and mortage the team to get that QB. Anyway, hopefully they draft that franchise QB next year. Whether at # 1, 5, 10, 15, 25 or in the second round. Sure would be nice.

I agree about Adams, but Watson would have obviously been a better pick. Although he wouldn't have the same success with this OL, RB's and WR's. I would rather spend this next draft on getting playmakers and upgrade the OL for a QB down the road.

I don't know how McCown can be criticised, apart from being too old. He looks good when he is in a rhythm and releasing the ball quickly. The biggest problem on the O is run-blocking, few QBs can thrive without a rushing game. To be fair, the O-line are doing a surprisingly good job of pass-blocking, but escapees from newyorkjets.com will know that I have been calling out for them to draft some road-graders for the line for at least five years.

all I can say is WTF

The worst part of the Robby Anderson non call was; in bang bang plays like that when the Offensive player sees the hit coming like Robby did they usually put their head down to brace for impact. Which I hate cause sometimes the offensive player putting their head down causes the helmet to helmet contact. Robby, not sure if he did it purposely, literally kept his head up to avoid a hit in the head and still got walloped in the chin and helmet. And no call....

and on the ASJ call he lost the ball in the air from his right arm the ball went into his left arm while still in the air and you can see he regained control right before he hit the pylon which is in bounds. That was a TD and the fact the NFL had to put out a statement less than an hour after the call saying it was clear to them he didn't have control only confirms they know they blew that call.
