We all know the Giants are done. They have fallen apart. They will probably begin a massive rebuild similar to the Jets next season - maybe with a new coach and GM. They will be a year behind us at least. In the meantime they have Eli Manning. A QB that is familiar with the NY market and the stadium. He is still a franchise QB. However, he is at the end of his career and does not have the time to wait for a complete overhaul of a Giants team.

The other NY team, the Jets. Already have started their rebuild. Have more stability at GM and probably coach. We dont have a QB and if we keep rising we will be missing that piece.

I think it would be valuable for everyone to trade Eli to the Jets. He knows the fans, knows the city, knows the stadium, and the Jets in 2018 can give him the chance to win. I think if we got Eli, we can use picks to get a top flight WR and reinforce O-line. I think we would then be very well positioned to make a real run which would be good for us and good for him. It would also be good for the Giants. They would be able to rebuild without having to worry about having an aging QB who needs to win now on their roster.

It would be like Vinny for us. It would also allow us more time to find a franchise QB in the future.

Thoughts?

I don't really know about a trade for ELI, but one thing that is becoming more and more apparent is Kirk Cousins hitting FA? Word has it that could actually happen?

To be honest I don't think there's a more overrated QB than Eli Manning. He's missed the post season more than he's made it, I believe. Franchise QBs don't let that happen. Granted he's been on some bad teams but Rodgers and Brady have crappy supporting cast but they always win. He's very streaky and at his current age I don't think he has another streak in him.

If if I had to choose a veteran QB to take the reigns until our young guys take over I'd sign Alex Smith. He's getting better and is a perfect fit for the west coast offense. I'd love Cousins too but I think he's either staying in Washington or going to SF.

Eli is nearing the end of his career.
by the time this rebuild is complete , Eli will be retiring. Makes little sense to trade for him.

Eli is a very good QB. If you dont believe it watch what he just did to the Broncos with No WR's

Rather see Cousins or Smith over Eli.
Don't think Eli is going to play much longer, 1-2 years and we are not going to be a contender in that timeframe.

At this time in the rebuild I don't think we are an attractive option to any of these guys but as we improve through the season that could change so maybe by the time one of them becomes available it would make sense.
