i like this kid.. i'm rooting him to get his shot, here or elsewhere..
but aside from mccown getting injured, that ain't happening here.. not with bowles in charge.. & no, i don't root for injuries..

Cut Hack!! Petty has the tools and the leadership qualities. He did enough in PS to be starter, but got hurt. Hack will never be anything. Petty will be Alex Smith at minimum IMO.

Isn't that great? He's not too arrogant to forget the fans. Honestly, I think there should be more of that. Just like 13, I am really hoping he gets a shot, but just because I'm selfish and because I like Petty so much, I want that shot to be with the Jets.
Good kid, great leader. Jets will find a way to let him go.

And yes, I agree. I think Hack is a lost cause? I'm not what Mac was thinking when he drafted him, but the evidence obviously says something otherwise. Time to cut bait.........
it is funny same was said last year about Petty... time of when a quarterback could be ready to contribute is never the same, but what we saw from last year when Petty played to what he did this off season, pre season in his development showed one thing the new coaching staff knows what they are doing... come next off season, pre season will be key if Hackenberg can take the next step... depending on what level he improves too will be the deciding factor if Petty is still on the team next year and moving on...
I for one want to see Petty get his chance, but age and longevity at this position is also a plus when Hackenberg is still only 22 years old, his potential is still there is because of his age and the team is in no rush to march him on the field...
