everyone had no hope for this season, then the position coaches got these players going and the scheme that Morton, Rodgers and Bowles want to implement is coming together better than expected this year and still everyone wants to mail shit in because we are not able to finish out games... @ Tampa, the defense wore down quickly because the offense kept going 3 and out... Being that the defense spent the majority of the game on the field we were bound to lose, we should of lost 40-3... Our defense albeit racked up the penalties kept us in the game that was because the management by both TB and Rodgers game plan...

there is no doubt in my mind that right now TB, Morton, and Rodgers along with the position coaches are more than likely to return next year and be here as long as this team keeps competing...

Isn't it Rex's fault that the defense is always on the field and the offense goes 3 and out. How many years and coaches have we gone through with the same thing happening? It's starting to seem like this is what the Jets do no matter who plays or coaches. it's opposite of the patriot way. Their's is winning no matter who wears the uniform, ours is watching the defense play 50 minutes while the offense runs 3 plays before they punt. I've been saying we should punt on 1st down for probably 20 years now.

I blame myself for the Tampa loss. I have spent the season expecting that we lose every game. Watching the games half heartedly while doing other things around the house. Sunday I was tired and had nothing important to do so I sat and watched the game start to finish. Before the game started I actually thought the Jets would win, as it would lower our draft pick. After about 2 series, I recognized the ineptitude that is the Jets on a day when you just know that they will not win. We've seen this game a million times before. I knew it was over and I sat and watched the whole mess anyway. Blame me

Give me a break for crying out loud? You mean to tell me you're going to blame Rex Ryan for defensive woes 3 years after he's gone? Talk about the age old EXCUSE.

This will always be an issue with the jets, as long as we stick to only hiring old school defensive coaches.

Until we actually get back in tune with the times of the modern NFL and hire a creative offensive mind that understands you win games in this league by scoring points (see: Rams, Vikings, Cowboys, Titans just to name a few) we will always see our defense winded and on the field for 3/4 of games. Coaches like Bowles, and Rex to a lesser extent still think that its 2000 and you can win with pounding the rock, making 100 conservative decisions and letting the defense play most of the game. This isn't anything new or surprising here.

When for almost a decade you pick exclusively defensive players in the first round you get what we get. The offense needs to sling the ball downfield and get a good running back. Good things happen when you're aggressive. We've had nothing but conservative coaches bc our defensive coaches all think they can win with their defense

Also being a Tenn Vol fan, I'm conflicted. There is no way I want him to be the face of our entire college football program. The guy can barely speak with any sort of authority in front of a handful of media folks, how is he going to handle a massive, extremely loyal fan base. They're not the NY media, but just the same they would eat him alive. In the same breath, I hope he is not back with the Jets next year. I'm guessing that UT will go for a big name anyway, not someone like Rodgers.

Dude, I was being sarcastic. I liked Rex. most others didn't. My point was, Rex is gone. nothing has changed. and back then it was all Rex's fault supposedly

Guys. I agree we need an offense of some respectability but defense still wins championships. The years when the cheatahs were outscoring their opponents by 50 points a game were the few years that they fell short of the superbowl because they came up against a team with a strong defense(Giants, Broncos and even the Jets that one year) and a good offense. It was the years when the cheatahs focused a little on defense , like when they signed Revis, for example, that they actually won the superbowl. and haven't they won all the superbowls by 3 points or less? Of course they also had the other teams playbooks which helped a little :)

Amen brother! Some Jet fans are like hot or cold.....there is no warm. I for one think things look good & i am enjoying this season. If we play hard & grow I am all in.

When was the last time the Rams or Titans won anything,or the cowboys for that matter. Zimmer of the Vikings is a Defensive HC....
The problem with this team has been drafting poorly. Too many defensive picks not enough Offensive picks and so many bad drafts that there has been no Depth. Mac has done a good job with low level FAs to fill out the roster but he has to have a couple solid drafts.
The Offensive HC argument has no merit. Belichick is a Defensive minded HC and has won more Superbowls than any coach.
Rex had terrible OCs and Idzick left him with no talent.
Talented players and a good coaching staff will win regardless of the HC being from an offensive or Defensive background.
