Good for McCown, he's played great this year. I really don't get the sentiment about next year's draft. We weren't getting the Number 1 pick anyway, and even if we did, Rosen or Darnold are not locks for the HOF. They could just easily turn out to be busts. They are not can't miss prospects. IMHO - Mariota, Wentz and Watson were all better prospects - the primary reason is, they know how to win.

And a player could just as easily fall to us, we could trade up, whatever. It's not a big deal if we don't draft #1 or #2. I know everyone wants a QB, I get it. I do too. But, this team needs to continue to build a strong competitive roster at all positions. And when the right QB comes along, they can be successful. The Jets absolutely should not reach for a QB. This is a deep QB class. A player drafted in the 3rd round might be just as good as one of the 1st rounders.

My recommendation is be patient and enjoy the rest of the season. McCowen has played really well. This offense is fun to watch. I guarantee you they would not be this good if there was a rookie leading this team with a new offensive coordinator and system. The draft will take care of itself.

McCown has played way better than his talent is as a QB, but for fucks sake we are 5-7 and we have a QB playing out of his own mind. Even if we have the best roster in the NFL next year, McCown is not capable of taking this team past 8-8. He can continue to win us games and get farther away from a real impact player, but getting the 5th best QB isn't going to be much better than what we have. Barkley will be gone as well. Maybe we can get another Darron Lee.

I would add - what makes you think you can't get an impact player in the middle of the draft? There are dozens of great players in the league who were picked later in the first round - several HOFs by the way - Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Marino. Aaron Rodgers fell in the first round. Watson was taken last year at what 12? Mahomes went near the end of the first round and he looks really talented. Garrapolo went in the 2nd round as I recall. I believe that the draft will take care of itself.

And you trust this organization to be able to pick an impact player in the middle of round one? They need to have a player fall in their lap. Bunch of idiots in this front office.

I respectfully disagree. I think that Mac is doing a very solid job. So yes, I do trust them to pick an impact player in the middle of round 1.

Well so far Lee is not a great pick in round 1. His other two good picks fell in his lap even though he screwed the franchise by not drafting Watson. And the two QB's he did pick can't get on the field.

I think Lee has improved dramatically since last year. Time will tell, but I think he will turn out to be a solid if not good pro. I get the Watson pick and I liked Watson too, he was my favorite QB in that draft, but you can't really argue with Jamal Adams. He was a great pick. The QBs - Petty was always seen as a backup. Hackenberg - fair enough. I understand why they took him - intangibles, great arm talent, prototypical size, good athlete and excellent work ethic. Hard to argue with the pick from a measurables standpoint. I think they took him a round or two too early, but no GM is perfect. If there is one blemish on his resume thus far, I would agree that it is that he has not drafted a QB that starts for us. But, I am not going to throw out the rest of his drafts because of it. Or the work he has done in Free agency, which has been outstanding. I know they've tried to move up to get their guy in the past. This year, maybe they will have success doing that or the player they want will fall to them. Time will tell...but I do trust them to make a good pick yes.
