I agree. When I first heard that Bowles wanted him I wasn't to happy. I remembered him from the Bills.
After looking back into what he had done as an OC, I thought he might be exactly what this team needs. For one thing the biggest problem with this team is QB. CB is second, but not his problem. He has done very well with bad QB's
The Jets look like they are going to have a decent staff so far. One problem is that most of the coaches have been promoted to their current job for the first time. Going to be some growing pains. Gailley has been there, and done that. He should be a steading hand with all these new guys.
Another plus is that he seems to have accepted the fact that he is a good OC, and a bad HC. He should be able to advise Bowles on the pitfalls, and problems a good coordinator has when he becomes a HC.
My fear is that this will probably be his last gig, and very possibility he doesn't want to do it with a stiff like Smith at QB. The good sign is he used the word "we" when talking about the Jets offense
If this is a matter of money, that he wants to be paid a lot more then what an OC usually gets. Pay the man Woody
