NYP -- New York Jets star Robby Anderson believes he “could have wound up dead” during his confrontation with Florida cops, the player’s attorney told The Post on Saturday.

“He’s not accusing anybody of anything…but what happens to young black men when they’re stopped for a traffic offense? Because that’s what it was. The other stuff was after the fact,” said Miami-based attorney Ed O’Donnell.

The 24-year-old wide receiver was busted early Friday for driving double the speed limit, and then threatening to sexually assault the responding officer’s wife, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. He was clocked driving 105 mph in a 45 mph zone while swerving between lanes around 2:15 a.m. on North Flamingo Road in the town of Sunrise, just west of Fort Lauderdale, cops said.

O’Donnell, who bailed Anderson out of jail, said he spoke to the receiver for about 10 minutes on Saturday afternoon.

“I said, ‘I’m glad you’re OK,’ and he said, ‘I know. I could have wound up dead.’”

Anderson plans to attend church with his mother on Sunday, and will sit down with his lawyer to discuss the case the next day, O’Donnell said.

Anderson was slapped with nine charges, including resisting an officer, harming a public servant, and fleeing police, records show.

“The charges are totally out of character for Robby. He’s just a fine young man who I hold in high regard,” O’Donnell said. “I don’t know what he said [to police]. I know what’s been printed. I’ve been doing this for 47 years and what’s stated in a police report is often at odds with true facts. It started as a traffic offense and escalated, OK?”

Exactly. If you're afraid, you don't say you're going to find and f**k the wife of someone who has a weapon.

Yes,you could've wound up dead or fucking killed someone doing 105 mph, swerving from lane to lane.

I think they should blame his actions on the concussion he got in the last minutes of the cheetahs game, which was due to a cheap shot in a game that was clearly over:)

Kid's a jerk, trade him if you can get something. Probably not at this point, but he is a fool.

Kids got to grow up there is no question about it.
As far as what really happened, we will never know, but I honestly don't believe he was going 105 mph. It doesn't add up.
The intersection is at most 150 ft long.
The cop was stopped and Anderson passed him, reportedly slowed at the first red light and then sped up through the intersection, made a left through the second red light.
I'm extremely familiar with this intersection as my son's school is just south on flamingo and for years I had taken it a minimum of 4 times per day.
It's an underpass for highway 595 with 2 large dips which are difficult to navigate at 45, impossible at 105.
There is no possible way the police officer could have clocked him at 105 , the cop could not have gotten from a stop to 105 in the distance.
He would have under 1.5 seconds to go from park to 105 mph to clock him. It's not possible.
Remember he wasn't clocked with a radar gun but by the officers speedometer.
Anderson was stupid, obviously going through something emotional with his girlfriend and was very irresponsible, but I think the police report may be a little embellished as well.
Again I think we should calm down and let the legal process play out. He's young , talented and cheap, also just got cheaper for his next deal.
Until there is someone better on the roster, we likely will keep him.

I agree with the first part lets see what comes out........... but if guilty send him packing.....as far as 1.5 seconds to go to 105 mph......Did you ever see snacks in a buffet line or jet fans in a beer line

I wonder if he's given any thought to how much getting pissed off, speeding, and getting arrested improved the situation that pissed him off.

I fully understand boys in their 20's doing stupid ass shit. If he really told the cop that he was going to

???bleep his wife, that part I can't condone. That says to me that he was out of his mind drunk or on drugs.

None of this really matters anyway as to what we ultimately want to achieve which is a Superbowl win. Cheetahs are winning number 6 in 2 weeks and let's face it, no one in the acc can stop them from going for number 7 next year. If you could get on it, you would win

I used to love this sport, even though we have sucked since I was 3 years old. Now I honestly hate this sport thanks to belichick

He's scared for his life? We are to believe that he mentioned sexually assaulting the cops wife and "NUT in here eye" because he was scared?! A person who is scared submits to what the cops want. Later on you can defend yourself in a court of law.

This claim by his lawyer is a complete crock of sh*t and I hope the court sees it exactly as we all do........

He might just be as dumb as a brick? Maybe that's why he might said those things and been stone sober? I agree with you. I keep thinking he must have smoked crack prior to that run in. However, I don't think there's any question the cop that pulled him over would have given him a breathalyzer or a blood test to determine if he was high on some sort of illegal drugs? Maybe a canine unit was called to the scene to look for drugs in the car??

I have zero optimism. Most of these guys never change.

I agree with you. I think he's a legitimate shit for brains. He's already violated the NYJ code of conduct twice. What kind of organization will the NYJ be if they trade Sheldon Richardson for similar infractions and give Anderson another shot?

Two incidents has always been the historical tipping point for the NYJ. Mac should cut him immediately.
