Not sure why he was not on our shopping list last year? He is a FA again

He is pretty average. The two games before yesterday he was pretty bad. Potential to have great games. More potential to have really average to bad games. He would make the Jets 8-8. Foles than McCown though.

he is gonna be well overpriced...

Super Bowl loss trade 2 2nd round picks
Super Bowl win trade 2 1st round picks

for an average Quarterback that the system is caring him, not to mention the loaded backfield, a good offensive line, and not to mention a well rounded defense... oh how could a forget a solid coaching staff...

could see the Browns forking over picks to acquire him...

The Eagles have something the Jets don't. A very intelligent and legit offensive coaching staff that understands you win with offense in the NFL today, and who can put Foles in position to succeed. On the Jets he would just stink up the joint going to waste in Bowles "we don't believe in scoring we can win with defense and running the ball 167 times a game" philosophy

Well, he's better than anyone we have. Can you believe how pathetic that is? Another teams SECOND string QB is better than anyone we have. Mac is a fucking genius.

Cousins will cost $$$ not picks...

If the Redskins try to reap some kind of compensation they would need to franchise tag him first... $30 + M for one season for a slightly above average QB... no ty...

They can't tag him. He's already been tagged twice.

Cousins has been the Redskins' most consistent player on offense, but he still hasn't signed a long-term contract with the team. The Redskins will likely either let Cousins walk in free agency, or use the franchise tag on him for an unprecedented third consecutive year, a move that would cost the team over $34 million...

So as it says here, they can tag him and it will cost them bigger bucks to do so...

I think its unclear whether they can tag him. Media in DC is talking about possible tag. I think the tag rules are silent on doing it a third time because no one imagined it would ever make sense.

Might be possible at very high cost - but also possible Cousins could fight it. Then again 34 million isnt bad, although it would continue to leave him with injury risk etc -

He can be tagged one more time. This tag would allow the team first chance to match any offer he gets. Each time the player gets tagged, however: he gets a raise which means, you are correct that to do it would be at a high cost. The three tag designations are exclusive, non exclusive and transition.

Just giving consideration to this pragmatic terms...... Wouldn't signing Nick Foles make much more sense than giving Fort Knox for Cousins? Anyone, given the amount of money they must spend, will be going all in behind Kirk Cousins. They can't simply sign him as a Band-Aid or stop gap. The cost is too prohibitive. So if you sign Cousins you are saying, "You think he is the guy. You believe in him 100% and you are willing to tag the entire organizations hopes and dreams on Cousins"

In contrast, if you sign Nick Foles you'll have to spend more money to get him, but isn't this the BEST option for Mac not to have to tie the wagon to one guy? He signs for less and therefore you can move on from him much easier if things are not going well. With Cousins it had better work out or the team is f*cked.

So IMO signing Nick Foles not only gives us a much better QB in the short term (better than McCown. Remember McCown played out of his mind in 2017, doubtful he'll ever do that again) and allows us to rapidly develop a young guy behind the scenes....
